Do you need to lock down your bike rack?

Lock it down! No matter if your new bike rack is a hitch mount or roof mount, always get a lock for your rack. The boldest bicycle bandits and parking lot purloiners are not easily discouraged, and simply locking your gear to an unlocked rack is an invitation to take everything-rack and all.

Gentlemen: I have the Graber mountaineer-rak What do i do with the ends of the straps that hold the rack onto the car tie them back onto the rack? and What is the best way to secure the bicycle...

Wrap the shock cords (or bungee) around the bike frame and back onto the rack. Buy a pedal sock, and extra bungees also. Tie the extra ends to the rack itself so that they are not flapping around. A bicycle dealer will be glad to teach you all about it.

We bought some Schwinn panniers and have tried 3 different racks (2 Schwinn and one Bell). The panniers do not attach securely to any of the three. Is there a trick to this? The hooks on the panniers...

Most panniers have adjustable connectors for different racks. Schwinn may make a specific rack for your pannier. I recommend Ortlieb packs and Tubus racks.

How to put an adaptor for a child carrier on the rear wheel - it has a quick release lever

This may help you. http://www.expertvillage.com/video/4835_rear-rack-bicycle.html Some child carriers mount on racks such as the one in the video using a quick release. If this doesn't help you will have to consult someone at a bicycle repair shop.
