Holiday chest freezer lcm070lc

There are only three wires, aren't there? One is a safety earth, probably green or green and yellow. It goes on the spade attached to the metal of the thermostat body. The other two are a live and switched live. They go on the two spades that come out the plastic body. If there happens to be a third, it will be an alarm signal wire. Connect in any order you like. If the compressor comes on and the signal light, all is well. If the signal light does not come on, and the compressor switches off at -12c swap 2 of them. If none of this happens, switch 2 of them.

How to fix a Kenmore chest freezer model #255.19502010

Kenmore model 255.19502010 seems to have this problem where it will not get cold anymore, but it is a $12 solution and and easy wiring job. Easy like if you know colors and how to plug things in you should be able to do it. Get a Supco 3 n'1 Start (model RCO410) for a 1/4-1/3 hp compressor on ebay or Amazon. This one device replaces 3 different components (relay, overload and start capacitor) that all have a tendency to fail. When it arrives, make sure the frezer is unplugged, remove the metal panel on the side of the freezer. You will see a large black orb almost the size of a football, that is the compressor. On the left side there is a black plastic box that covers the connections on the side of the compressor. Open that up and you will find another black plastic thing plugged into the compressor that has a bunck of wires plugged into it. Pull it loose of the compressor by pulling straight back or gently prying it away with a flat screwdriver. You will see that it is plugged into 3 metal prongs that stick out of the compressor. You will see that all the wires go back to a Cylinder shaped device about 1.5 inch diameter and about 5 inches high it is secured to the bottom rail with a single bolt. Remove the black cylinder and all other pieces that were plugged into the compressor. You should be left with a white and black wire coming from the dial selector on the front. Follow the directions on the package of the SupcoBy connecting the white wire to the lower left prong on the compressor, the Black wire to the top center prong and the red wire to the bottom right prong. Connect the other 2 black wires to the black and white wire coming from the dial with the enclosed wire nuts. Put the new 3 in 1 next to the compressor andplug in your freezer to test. If it gets cold then unplug it and secure the new 3 n1 with a ziptie, duct tape' screw' or some other way (do NOT screw into the 3 n 1 just through the hole in the top.)

If this does not fix your freezer then put it on craigslist for a fermentation chamber for home-brewers and home wine makers because your compressor is probably shot.

One note: while I was repairing mine I took the dial thermostat out and int eh process unplugged one of the connection. The first time I plugged in my freezer it did not turn on but the green light was on. If this happens to you inspect all the connections and make sure they are on tight.

Sounds like the compressor relay or the compressor itself shorted out. This is not because someone switched the power off and quickly back on. This would have happened anyway. Now to prove or disprove this possibility I want someone to do a electrical test on the compressor run, start and common prongs comming out the side of the compressor. Here is the test as follows...Unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel that covers the compressor. There should be 3 wires going inside the cover of the compressor. Mark all 3 and mark their location so if compressor is OK you can put them back in same order. The plastic cover may snap on and you may need to squeeze the sides to unlock the cover and sometimes there is a metal clip holding the cover in place. Remove the cover. May look hard but it's simple. There will be three connections under the cover and 2 will go through the start relay. Unplug them leaving the three prongs exposed. They may be marked R =Run, S=Start and C=Common. Set your meter on continuity and then begin by testing 2 at a time until you have checked S to R and R to C an C to S and S to R again. You should get a reading all the way around. If no reading between any of the pairs as you go around you should get no reading between any two the compressor has an open winding and is defective. Then if it passes that test then touch one probe to R and the other to the copper pipes or clean metal on outside of compressor, then S to metal outside and C to metal outside. If you get a reading this way even just a little. The compressor is a burnout. Then let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea Breeze

GDM-33SL-60 not cooling

Is the compressor (the football-sized case on the outside back of the refrigerator) making a continuous hum or other noise? A constant noise could indicate a serious problem with one or more components. This is a repair that should be left to a refrigerator service expert.

If you hear a clicking noise every few minutes, this means your condenser is trying to work but can't. If your condenser coils are clean, the problem could be the start relay, which triggers the compressor. Have a refrigerator repair pro determine if the start relay is the culprit and to replace it if necessary.

For more help identifying the causes and solutions, read Refrigerator not cooling. I hope this helps!

What rewiring is needed to replace the overload relay with a universal kit, on an upright freezer? Kelvinator model VA16 W. There are two relays that connect to the compressor that need to be replaced....

The two pieces are Relay and Overload.

If you are using a supco relay/overload combination that has three wires with terminals and two wires with stripped ends the wiring is as such.

Red-Run Terminal, White-Start Terminal, Black-Common Terminal (Overload was wired to this)

Stripped wires are connected to line cord along with condenser fan wires.

no check the air thats being blown by the fan in the freezer can you feel any cold air and i mean cold? if not go to the back of the fridge taKE Off the bottom panel should have like 6 to 10 screws see if the fan in the back is working  if yes see how hot the compressor(the big black thing next to the fan, sorry some people dont know what it is) see if its hot if it is very very hot like burn your hand hot you can try to cool it down with some paper towels and cold water but unplugg the fridge if its warm not so hot or cold than you need to get a 3 in 1 kit  your compressor is not turning on because the starter relay is not good and its not helping the fridge turn on the relay is very very easy to install once you get it youll have to take off the black plasticon the right or front side of the compressor there are two plastic parts that are on the compressor under the big black part ( you might not have the black plastic if not just do this step) take the plastic parts that have the wires attached to it put the kit on on the kit there are three wires with metal little parts at the tips fallow the directions and place them on the right part of the  compressor there are three metal sticks about less than an inc big and you have to put the three wires on each one FALLOW THE PICTURE black on the middle on and depending if you middle on is on the top or bottom would depend where you put what color wire if you middle one is at the top put white wire on the left and red on the right and if you middle one is in the bottom black goes on it and white on the right and red on the left but like i said fallow the directions
than you have to strip the other two wires that are left on the kit than take the two wires that you took off with the plastic parts that were on the compressor once you cut them strip the wires and just connect them to the two left over ones from the kit doesnt matter which one goes where
sorry for the long reply but this should help
if you do the 3 in 1 kit and the compressor turns on and after a while like an hour it doesnt feel cool air at all than you have a freeon leak which mean new fridge
the 3 in 1 costs like 20 dollars
good luck keep me upadated

Indesit fridge Freezer

I think you'll find the relay is there to start the pump by switching the mains to the shorter winding in the motor, hence three terminals. Once the pump is running the relay "drops out" and the motor runs on the longer winding. Check with a multimeter if the windings are intact. There's no Positive and Negative for AC operated devices i.e. it doesn't matter which way around the power (live and neutral or Hot and Cold) goes in but Earth or Ground MUST be correct. Dont kill yourself!!
