It won't spin because the door won't lock. The door won't lock because the door lock mechanism is bad. I ran into this many times with the Neptune's when I was working for Sears. It is not a very easy fix. It is a pain to get to that door lock and replace it. You will most likely need a repair person to come out and fix it. I hope this helps you, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope you have a good rest of the weekend though and let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck.

My maytag washer does not spin fast enough to get the water out of the clothes. Please advise

Randall, the high speed spin failure can be caused by a number of issues. I would suggest starting the machine without any clothes in it. Once it has filled, make sure the door lock light is on and that the door is, in fact, locked. If the light is not on, or if the door is not actually locked, either the door lock assembly or the control panel is at fault.

If the light is on and the door is locked, stop the wash cycle and start a drain and spin cycle to see if all of the water is pumped out of the drum. All water should be pumped out within 10-15 seconds. If excess water is in the drum, the high speed spin will not start.

Why is my maytag Neptune Model no# MAH5500AWW spinning very slow and not draining water out?

Complete drain must occur before spin. A no drain situation would be an actual full pool of water seen in the bottom of the machine if all the cloths were removed, sounds like you are experiencing a spin enable switch failure, which mainly prevents final high speed spin leaving the cloths dripping wet. The spin enable switch contacts become tarnished/corroded over time resulting in poor connection. If the door lock light comes on than your door lock wax motor is working. The spin enable switch is the last switch to the right in the door lock unit where the light bulb is. Part# is 22002162. If there is an actual pool of water in the bottom of the machine as if you simply removed the cloths from the unit but left the wash water, than you should look first look to your drain pump for failure, or obstruction of foreign objects, or excess lint in the pump. My candy GOFS262 washing machine is filling the drum to the top with water on every cycle but doing nothing else after that, the clothes jst sit there in the water, I've left it to see if something...

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Motor Coupling If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. It is designed to fail if the washer is overloaded in order to protect both the motor and transmission.

Drive Belt If the washer won't spin or agitate, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin or agitate properly.

Drive Motor If the washer won't spin or agitate the drive motor might be defective. This is not common. Check all of the other related parts to this symptom before replacing the motor. If the motor is visibly burned out or physically damaged, replace it.
Stator Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the stator assembly might be burned out. The stator is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the stator burns out the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the stator for continuity. This part is often misdiagnosed.

Door or Lid Latch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.

Motor Control Board If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor control board might be defective. The motor control board provides power to the motor as well as direction and force. If the motor control board is defective the washer may not work at all or function properly.

Washer not draining

Probably the pump filter needs cleaning.
It should be located at the bottom front of washer behind drop down cover, turn anti-clockwise to remove and clean.

My wash machine wash the clothes but not doing the final spin, all the clothes all soak and wet

Handyman here -

Its possible that the door is not locking properly. If the door doesn't lock the machine will wash, but not spin the clothes dry. If you wait 15mins or so after machine is done, then set cycle to spin, it will pump any water that has dripped off your clothes out, but again it will not spin. Helps a little.

Good Luck!

Will not spin all the water out of clothes

I would start another cycle and see if your door lock light comes on. I have a maytag neptune that was doing the exact same thing. I had to replace the Door Lock Wax motor. It is a very cheap fix and if you have any mechanical ability you could save your self a ton of money by fixing it your self. Very simple to do. During the rinse and spin cycle, the door latch needs to be locked in order for the tumbler to help exhaust out any excess water.

Whirlpool awo 3751/5 will not spin

Hi,
There is a locking coupler on the Whirlpool washing machines that locks when it kicks into spinning cycle. I am guessing here, but if you try and run it without any clothes in it, it will probably spin. It will be slow starting, but it will probably spin.

The coupler is located down by the motor and is three pieces. They made it out of plastic, and while it typically holds up very well, they do break. I will try to look up the part # you need to fix it. (assuming this is your problem)
