Checks mismatch What settings do I use to print my quickbook checks on the photosmart c6100. Right now they are not printing and they say it is a mismatch

You may need to change the settings on your printer to accept the checks through the paper input. Otherwise try the printer setting on your QB to have it print from the tray. Make sure it is set to print on 8 1/2 X 11 sized paper and not 3 X 8 or some strange size.

Paper mismatch errors occur because the product scans the width of the envelope before printing. If the paper size setting in the printer driver does not match the paper actually loaded in the product, the product reports a 'Paper Mismatch' error.

How do you load your check in the printer?

There is good reason to use the proper paper to print checks. If you do not, the machines at the bank may not read them correctly, they will not have watermark to prevent fraud and if they are not the correct weight, they will get clogged in the equipment at the bank processing center.

Right click on the printer in question
Printing Preferences
Paper/Quality
(Plain Paper) This is a pull down menu with all styles of paper. You can change to the paper that you are using and change other settings as well.

Does the C6100 have fax history printout capablity?

Yes, Photosmart C6100 series does have the capability to print the fax history i.e. known as fax log, but its is only possible if you have not performed any resets recentlyt
How to print that?
Please follow the following steps to print it
1. Press the setup button on the printer
2. Go to the option that says 'Print Report'
3. Press Ok on print report
4. Scroll down using the arrow keys and go to fax log
5. Press Ok on fax log
6. This would print the history

How do you change the settings on a HP C6100 Printer to print in black ink only.


You can find the settings in the print driver software. Go into your Control Panel and right click on the C6100 in the Printers & Faxes section. Choose Properties, and go to either the Color Management or Advanced tabs. You should see an option somewhere for printing in Monochrome or Color -- select Monochrome (or it might say Grayscale) and save the change.

Open QuickBooks. Then go to File at the top left side of the page. Then scroll down to set up printer. Choose the form you wish to be able to print in QuickBooks and this will take you to a place to choose your default printer. Click the arrow next to the name of the printer it has stored as default and choose your printer (hp photosmart) and then close the window and this will save your choices. Repeat the same procedure for each form name you wish to print in QuickBooks.

HP C6100 Wireless printer has stopped working


The HP C6100 series has had some ip setting issues. One day my printer didn't print. I checked the ip settings on the printer and got some 648.154.1.654 address. I had no clue where this ip number came from, because my router's ip is 192.168.0.1. I went into the settings of my printer and set my ip settings manual. Then I went into the router settings and reserved the ip setting I previously setting on the printer to the printers MAC address. I also set static ip address for each computer on my network. This network response issue started about one year after I purchased the printer. I still lose connection every once in a while, but rebooting the router reconnects the printer and everything sitting in the que to print starts to print. To stablize the issue: upgrade router firmware, set static ip address on your network devices, reserve those ip address in your router, , if all else fails reboot router.

Cannot print with wirelessly networked printer


hi,

if printing from 2 other computer works fine, will i think its not an issue of IP address which changes somehow. but anyways, try to check if you still have other printer drivers under "PRINTERS" (see control panel). it should say HP Photosmart c6100 series. If you also have there a printer icon that says HP Photosmart c6100 series Copy1, try using it (right click on that icon and choose Set as Default Printer). If you only have HP Photosmart c6100 series under PRINTERS, try to right click, then choose properties. When Properties box is open, click on PORTS tab. then click on configure ports below. Try to type in the IP address of the printer under "Printer Name or Host name or IP address". make sure that you already printed network configuration page to get the exact ip address of the printer, Dont know how to print? do this.

PRINTING NETWORK CONFIGURATION PAGE
1. press setup, then scroll down and look for Network.
2. press okay on network, it will give you the first option "VIew network settings".
3. press okay on it, and it will give you the first option "Print network configuration page."
4. choose that and press okay. it will print the network config page. from this document, you will be able to see the IP address of the printer.

Please let me know if the issue is still not resolve so that i can go ahead and give you another possible solution.
