Question about Husqvarna "Chain Saw - 16" Bar, 3 Hp

1 Answer

HUSQVARNA MODEL 50 BAR AND CHAIN UPGRADE

I HAVE A 16'' BAR AND WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE. I DON'T KNOW THE LARGEST BAR I CAN USE, 18'' OR 20'' WITHOUT COMPROMISING SAW PERFORMANCE. I THINK MY SAW IS A 49CC AND ABOUT 3 H.P. THIS SAW RUNS STRONG WITH THE 16'' BAR, BUT I'D LIKE TO BE ABLE TO CUT LARGER LOGS. I CAN'T FIND ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS UPGRADE OR IF IT'S EVEN A POSSIBILITY.

I have a nearly worn out 42 cc Husquvarna that uses a 20 inch bar very successfully. With proper filing of the chain you should be able to run a 22 inch bar very well. Ensure that the roller nose on your new bar matches the pitch of the clutch sprocket that you are using at present. If not, have your chain saw shop change them so they match.

I would advise that you change the bar and sprocket to use a .375 chain as this will be easier to sharpen successfully than the .325 pitch chain you might be presently using.

I am six feet tall and short bars are murder on my back so this is why I use no shorter than 20 inch bars on my saws.

Use a ratio of 50-1 with Husqvarna two stroke oil, with other two stroke oils they recommend a 25-1 mix as they do not know the quaility of other manufactureres two stroke oil, always try to use Husqvarna oil.

Fuel mixture for a Husqyarna E-series 137, mod/137802010

The mixture should be 50-1 with Husqvarna rwo stroke oil, it is recommended that you use a mixture of 25-1 with other brands of two stroke oil, this is because they do not know the quaility of other brands, always try to find genuine Husqvarna oil.

What is the oil mixture for husqvarna chain model 235

50:1 fuel to oil ratio is correct for this saw. Be sure to use modern synthetic saw oil, not a petroleum product like outboard motor oil. Premix the fuel and oil in it's own can, and shake thoroughly just before filling the saw each time. With these modern fuel/oil ratios, serious engine damage can occur if not thoroughly mixed each time. Hope this helps!

Can't start husq. 261

Most all of these saws use a 50 to 1 ratio. However, i like to use a two cycle oil that has a TCW3 rating to it. This helps to fight again moisture and condensation when the saw isn't being used.

Ive just bought a husqvarna 34 husky is this the model number 34? its serial number is 016810 but i cannot find details of it anywhere an want a manual can you tell me mixture also its my first chainsaw,...

Get Chain lube for the chain oiler. Naturally, husqvarna recommends that you use "genuine husqvarna" oil for your mixture, I recommend a quality oil, doesn't have to be husky. Husqvarna recommends a 50:1 ratio, other manufacturers, of vertually all 2 cycle power equiptment use a 40:1 ratio. This mixture is slightly richer, but will not hurt your chainsaw. May produce a bit more smoke. Not sure what a 34 husky is...neither is Husqvarna, I visited the website and even tried to download a manual. Looked at every husky model, no 34.
