Question about Zanussi F1245W Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Washing machine will not drain

My Zanussi F1245W will not drain. It washes normally and agitates. I have removed the pump to check for blockages - clear. Impeller spindle rotates. Drain tube is clear. Retested but machine still would not drain. I did not remove the big drain hose connected to the bottom of the drum when I removed the pump but could feel a ball in the top of the big hose that I could manipulate up and down the hose but would not fit through the pump end of the hose. Is this ball part of the system? Is the pump faulty? Regards

Re: Washing machine will not drain

The ball is part of the system. They float up when there is water in the washer and as it drains if go's down. It sounds to me you must have a blockage somewhere, if you know the pump is operating in the drain cycle. If your sure there is no blockage and the ump is working I would replace the pump. On electric pumps they may work but if the impeller is worn from something that got into the pump it will spin but not pump the water out. Hope this helps you.

The washing machine does not evacuate water and does not go in spin cycle.

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Zanussi Aquacycle 1200 Model F1245W wont drain. I cleaned filter. Removed pump and tested if off line and it spins so I am presuming that the pump is not getting power. Is this a PCB/Timer Main Board...

We cannot say if the timer is problem without inspecting the wiring to the pump.

Consider an power supply wire to the pump is broken , then even if the timer is good it wont get power.

M/c won't spin

Take off top and rear half of machine cover
remove belt and spin drum by hand, (does it spin freely?)
make sure pump and drain hose are ok (clear)
there is a plastic ball (about egg size) in hose from drum to pump.
check motor brushes are at least 3cm long
if you have checked all these but the fault persists email me on

Drain pump removal on Zanussi FJR1254 Washing Machine

not easy.suggest you disconnect pump and power up independently as an easy way to check if it runs
easiest way to remove pump - and its awkward - is to undo the 3 screws holding the pump to its housing
