Re: usb flash pen drive

It is possible the front set of USB connectors were mis-wired or the motherboard end was connected backwards, and thus might've damaged your flash drive & mp3 player. If you are interested in the pinout specs, look here If you've tried the flash drive & mp3 player in a known good computer, & they don't work, then this tells you they have a problem. If damage to the electronics of the devices has been done, because of a miswire, then they must either be replaced or repaired. As far as recovering data from the flash, this would be doubtful if the above is true. Look here for information related to repartitioning the flash drive. You might need to do something similiar with the mp3 player. I don't have alot of experience with either device, but perhaps another contributor can give more accurate counsel.

My computer doesn't recognize my dane-elec 8gb usb stick , although other usb devices do work.

1. Try a different USB port. If other ports recognize it, then the original port is fried. 2. Try a different computer. If the other computer does not recognize it, then your flash drive is damaged.

Good Luck!

The thumb drive might have some fault.
Plug it in other OS mainly windows XP and Linux.
If still same problem persists after tried in Linux, problem is with pen drive.
You can ask for a replacement from the dealer as it has guarantee for 5years.

Window did not recognized my kingston usb (DT slim)

Usually all flash drive are plug and play devices if your computer is not recognizing it you should try plugging it into another USB port and even try plug in another computer to see if it would work.If your flash drive does not work this mean it is dead and the flash drives are not design to get the information off when it is dead.

4 Gb pen drive can't poen

Your drive could be corrupt. The first thing I would do however is make sure you are plugging it into a good USB port. If you are using a desktop with USB ports in the front, and are plugging the drive in there, remove it and plug it in to one of the USB ports on the back of the computer. Many times the front ones will have issues with certain USB devices. If that doesn't work, you very well may have a bad usb drive. I would try it on another computer if switching the usb port doesn't help, to see if the drive is truly not working or just a driver problem on your computer.

Win98 is not recognized my pendrive

You'll Find it is the USB ports..Not the pendrive .USB driver weren't found in windows until WIN ME.
Look for USB drivers for WIn98 and it should work at at least 1.1 maybe not the 2.0 speed.
good luck , have fun

USB 2.0 Flash Drive prblem

On first read, the error message indicates that there is a bad section of the flash memory card in your pen drive. We call these areas, sectors. A utility in Windows, called ScanDisk, which you may be familiar with can scan and then mark the sector as bad and then allow data to be written again.

However, this may be a fatal error and render the flash drive unusable. I'll have to ask you to check a few things to make a final judgement.

First, when you insert the pen drive into a usb port, does Windows recognize the drive by making the familiar tone or do you get an error message on insert?

Thanks for taking a few minutes to answer these questions. I'm afraid I will only have more until we can determine if you have a usable pen drive or not.

Just so you know, this pen drive has a lifetime warranty so it will be replaced and I can provide you with the web site address for doing that should it come to this.

Cruzer micro 4GB, unreadable in USB ports

sounds like your USB connector of the flash drive is damaged. Could be a loose/broken solder joint, or one of the pins on the USB connector could be damaged.

If it was my drive, I would open the case, solder a new connector on the board and backup the files.
