Question about Onkyo TX-DS777

1 Answer

TX-DS777(B) A fault has manifested itself in that after switching on the receiver (perfect picture and sound) the video disappears after about 20 secs and cannot get any output at the MONITOR. If you switch off the receiver and a couple of minutes later switch it back on the same thing happens. I took it to the local Hi-Fi shop anf they confirmed that it is faulty but were reluctant to work on it. Can you tell me where I can get the circuit diagrams or the maintenance manual or even better a repair shop near. I am in Dunfermlnie Scotland.

It Does not sond to difficult Check the Connection on the Video out on the Board inside the Reciever Sometimes Because of the Weight of the Video wire it will cause a Circle Break,As the Reciever is turned on it Cold and the heat,as the unit warms up Expands the Break causing loss of Pix Good Luck TTech

Onky TX-DS777, no sound from speakers

Are the speakers selected for A or B or AB check the speakers by using a 1.5 volt batter on the cable going to the speakers, if you get a sound from the speaker, you know they are ok, if not, speakers are faulty.

Onkyo TX-DS777 does not retain settings after power loss

No internal battery, a large "SuperCap" on the main board acts as one. Look for C8007, 0.1 F, 5.5V.

Onkyo TX-SR606 Reciever - 20 sec after power on, screen is green

The HDMI version in your receiver is 1.1 or 1.2 which will not pass video as it should. It's not Onkyo's firmware at issue, it's HDMI and in all receivers up to 2008 model year this is a very heated problem! The only fix is to run FIOS directly to the TV via HDMI and run it's audio to your receiver with Digital Coaxial or Optical. Hope this helps
