You need a set of normal rca cables (red.yellow, white) and another single rca cable.. OPTION 1 :If you have a digital satellite receiver, Connect the 3 colour cables to the corresponding colour jacks on VIDEO 2 of your dvd player to corresponding colour jacks on the VIDEO OUT Of your digital satellite receiver...Connect the single stand alone rca cable to MONITOR OUT on your player to the VIDEO IN input of your tv..
OPTION 2 STRAIGHT TO TV: connect the 3 colour cables directly to the corresponding colour jacks on the SIDE of the tv...Connect the single stand alone rca cable to MONITOR OUT on your player to the VIDEO IN input of your tv..
OPTION 3 IF YOUR PLAYER HAS AN OPTICAL INPUT: if this is the case you can just connect a single optical cable to the optical ports on your player and tv and this will enable the sound from your tv to play through your dvd player as well
If connected to cable or satellite your tv will work after digital conversion occurs. If using an antenna, look up a local TV station to see if they're already broadcasting in digital. Most are. Enter that DIGITAL channel # using your remote. If you get a picture, you don't need a converter box.
HD ready?? NO - - Compatible? Yes but you'll need the converter.. The US post office will be giving away coupons for the converter. Google search the HD converter issue and you'll have a wealth of information.
I have had on order since December 2007 the Akai replacement remote #WIR3500001-EQ01 the Akai TV/DVD combo model #CFTD2011. I called each month for 5 months, being told each time that it was on backorder. A few days ago, I received a letter in the mail stating that this remote is no longer made and is not available.
I too have tried universal remotes without any luck. If anyone has a resolution, it would be greatly appreciated.
