Question about Tools & Hardware - Others

1 Answer

My hubby bought something like this the other day. It says 5 blades. When I opened it either they are all stuck together or it is one blade made of 5 blades...if that makes sense. Have you used these before and if so, if it really is 5 blades, how do I get them separated without cutting myself. Thanks Lisa

How to remov blades

The blade will be stuck on the shaft and both will be damaged and require replacement. With that knowledge you now understand that drilling a hole sideways through the blade cap isn't wrecking anything you are going to use again. You can then get something into the hole for leverage. Here in NZ blades are under $20 and motor shaft sleeve is about $5.

I have a Badger 5 (5-81A). The motor is humming when it's turned on, however, the blade does not turn. The blade does seem to move freely. Tried reset and hex key but still nothing.

you have something stuck in it more than likely,, use the key ( unplug it first) and turn it backwards,, keep looking inside with a flashlight for the lodged object once you see it,, remove it,, sometimes the key won't work if its something caught in the blades themselves, so use the handle end of a broom or plunger with a wooden handle to push on the blade itself to turn the unit over

The garbage disposal turns on, but the blades are not rotating. It sounds like the motor is not turning over.

Use wood stick or broom handle and see if blades rotate freely.
If blades are stuck, then use wood stick to wedge free the blades.

If blades rotate freely and disposal doesn't work, then disposal has gone bad.
Install new one.

I used my dpc 6410 64 cc saw all day cutting pavers and seemed like my blade was bent , we called it a day n came back the next morning to find the blade was straight ... am i goin crazy er did it do that...

Make sure that the blade is on correctly. If there is something stuck between the blade and the mount it will make everything off. Or if the but holding the blade on is not on tight enough you will have the same issue.

Can get it right

If the clippers are new, it is not likely that the problem is internal. Sometimes, when the blade is put on the clipper, it needs an extra little push to clip firmly behind the blade catch (you can hear a little click). Try that.

Reassembling blades on hedge trimmer

the blades are stuck , i spray my trimmer with wd40 before every use to keep them juicy you should too. also sometimes if you hit a large stick it will put a divot in the blade cause ing it to stick. as for putting it together, find some one who can do it without directions. but when you use them next make sure you soak em good with wd40 or something if you dont i guarantee they will always stick. wd40 willl not hurt any shrubbery, as ive been doing it for years.
