SOURCE: Sound very distorted

This turntable has a preamp switch on it, which is probably on and what is causing the distortion. Take off the metal record platter by lifting up on the two holes gently. Turn the pre-amp switch to 'off' and then try it again. This is probably it...

Or you can plug it into an input that doesn't have a preamp and that should work.

Left and right channel distorted denon pma510

Anything that distorts both channels has to be something where both channels go in and out of it. Is the main amp an IC Power Amp such as the one shown below. If it is replace it.

I have a Sherwood amp AX4050R which has distortion only on one channel. What could be the most likely problem. Where can I get a circuit diagram or service manual?

You don't really need one. Stereo amps are just mono amps times two with a single power supply. So if the distortion is one channel you still have the good channel as a guide to what is happening in the bad. It won't be the power supply, so just compare the two channels, you will find what is wrong that way.

Right channel is having distortion even if the voulme is turned off. I tried swapping the speakers and cables but still the distortion can be heard from the speaker. It is still coming even if the jumper...

you need to check for the filter capacitor on that channel, and going to the power amplifier. some distortion come from leak parts and need to trace that manually.

Will a sony 600watt amp run a 10 300watt 4 ohm sub?

Yes, but the wattage numbers are pure marketing and have no bearing in reality or fact. In general, given realistic amplifier power specifications, a higher-powered amp will be a better and safer power source for any given speaker than an under-powered amp since the latter will probably have to go into severe distortion to produce the same loudness a high-powered amp can provide cleanly. Distortion kills speakers.

The left channel is lower than right, i have checked all terminals etc..

Providing the effect is there on all inputs, plus there's no distortion, the problem could be caused by an Electrolytic bypass or coupling Capacitor in the pre-amp stage or higher.
If there's distortion, the problem is in the main power amp, with the 'things' on the heat sink.

Distortion in a Yamaha CA-800

The only thing I can suggest is you look at parts that are common to both channels in the main amp part. Perhaps an IC?
