How do I replace door lock/switch assy in kenmore 44082 washer

My Kenmore #44082 recently began to not spin when supposed to. Ran a diagnostic check and received the following error code: E47 - Board thinks the door PTC circuit is open in spin. After a great deal of research online, I find that the door lock assembly is probably bad. Evidently, this is quite a common problem in this Kenmore model. We would like to try this fix on our own as it appears the part should run only about $50 or so. Problem is, we have no idea how to access the door lock assembly. Can anyone give us detailed, step by step instructions and save us at least $200? Thanks!

Easy repair, somply open the door, and l;ook behind the rubber boot, youll see a metal band holding it to the fornt of the machins( spring loaded at very bottom) roll the "clamp"wire off andremoveth righthand side of the boot, youll need to unscrew trhe 2 phillips screws holding the latch assy on nad it will slide right put, probly 3 connectors( youll have enough wire to almost pull all the way out.. replace with the new latch(wires only plug into correct spots, you cant do it wrong). resecure the latch and roll the rubber boot back over the front lip. rescuring the metal clamp may take a little patience, but get a third hand if available.. starting at top strecth over both sides and snap spring over the bottom. easy repair take youtime youll be fine!!

Kenmore front load washer goes through wash and rince cycles but will not spin

These are symptoms of a broken door lock and switch assembly and the only viable solution is replacing the said assembly if no issue is found with the wire harness connections. The machine will not advance to the spin cycle unless the door lock spin switch is activated. This is a safety feature to prevent the door from opening and avoid injuries during the high-speed cycle. Replace the door lock and switch assembly and it should solve the problem. Click on the link below for the detailed instruictions on how to replace the door lock and switch assembly. The part number for the door lock and switch assembly of your machine may be different but the instructions still apply.

Have you pulled the pump and checked for obstructions? There may be something in the pump itself; you will need to check that...

If your problem can't solve, keep in mind that the error codes means physical wrongs, so, E43 is a door-locking problem or "board comunication problems".

I hope this helps.

No spin or drain on Kenmore 25972

Unless this is different from any washer we have ever owned, the door switch doesn't prevent or permit the pump from working but only the spin.
Go to the Sears website and follow links to the parts section. Enter your complete model number and there should be a detailed parts illustration that would allow you to learn where it is located.

I've had the same problem...you can purchase a replacement lid switch at your local appliance parts store for about $35. Fortunatly, the sales person at the appliance store had diagrams and provided instructions to replace the switch. I was able to finish the job and fix the switch in less than 1 hour. Good Luck.

Ran HE3 without Water, it's now locked up

Unplug the washer and wait 30 minutes, sometimes the next morning for the machine to reset. Make sure the water is on because it while find multiple failures and lock up, Secondly you can try putting the machine into diagnostic cycle to ensure it is ok. Press drain/spin and select no spin for spin speed finally press prewash quickly two or three times and let it run, any flashing codes?, hit prewash again after writing the codes down.
