Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

Acer Aspire 5100 new screen and still goes blank.

I have an acer aspire 5100 laptop . The screen goes blank after about 30 to 45 minutes being on. I have a new screen so it is not that . It had just went to a blank screen when I shut it up and broke the screen. Now I have the new screen and it is still doing it.

    Check your power settings in the windows control panel. It may be set to turn off automatically after so long. You can change it if that is the problem.

ACER PICTURE PROBLEM – MY SOLUTION

I had a similar problem, but I got a picture before it broke up and went off. The screen was backlit, but no video (screen was receiving some power).
The LCD needs a very stable voltage to work, this is provided through the LCD connector ribbon. In my case the ribbon was damaged and replaced it.
I have had no problem since.

I discovered this through trial and error; I first changed my transformer power supply and then the video inverter card.

this is a problem with the standby feature there is a patch that Microsoft has put out that should fix the problem i think the main cause is having a usb device plugged in when going to sleep, search Microsoft knowldege base and it should pop right up

Try reseating the RAM modules. If that doesn't work test the RAM in another laptop. If nothing works chances are you have a faulty motherboard.
