Question about Oregon Scientific FM Weather Projection Clock with Self-Setting Atomc Time and Vibrating Pillow Speaker

1 Answer

Changing the time

I have a self-setting atomic projection clock and weather forecaster Model No. BAR338PA I live in Alaska and the clock stays on pacific time.  I change it - it will work for 3-4 hours than it defaults back to pacific time. How can I make it stay on MY TIME! (One hour difference from Seattle)

You can go to http://www2.oregonscientific.com/assets/manuals2/bar338pa.pdf to see or print the user's manual.

If you don't want to get the manual, here's what you do to fix it. . . . .
*note: you need to do this anytime you change the batteries.

1) open the battery cover
2) on the left side you'll see 3 little buttons labeled a)zone, b)C/F c)reset
3) push the reset
4)push the zone button until your time zone is highlighted on the front display
5) look at the front display & if you see a blinking "radio signal" icon at upper left of time numerals
don't do anything else. The time, date, etc. will automatically synchronize your clock with the US Atomic Clock. This could take up to 10 minutes. As long as the "radio signal" icon is blinking, it's working on it. When the icon doesnt' blink, it's set. Cool, huh?
6) if the area you live in can't receive the signal from the Atomic Clock, instead of a blinking "radio signal", you'll see just a bare antennae. Since you probably set your clock manually, that's what it shows now before you do anything.
7) after you push reset & set the time zone do NOT touch any other buttons to set anything!!! (I know it's difficult to leave things alone, but just sit on your hands). Pushing the "clock" button or the up & down arrows will stop the radio signal & change to manual functions. Look at the signal icon mentioned in 5) and 6) above. If you only have the bare antennae icon. . . . . go ahead & set the time/date yourself. You have no signal.

Enjoy your clock!

set time/date and language-set clock to display day of week instead of seconds of time on display-then hold button on back of unit for 5-10 seconds-time zone will advance one place to right-repeat until correct-if go too far keep going to right and will recycle back to pacific time zone-unit will not change time zone unless clock is displaying day of week

website deleted plus symbol from my post-you have to hold the "plus" button to get time zone to advance
