The defrosting heating element may have burnt out. Also if the gasket around the door/drawer isn't sealing correctly moisture from the air leaking in could be condensing inside and then freezing causing the build up.

Is there a way to remove the drawer in the bottom freezer?

Pull the drawer all the way out until it stops. Then lift the front of the freezer drawer (a couple of inches), and pull out further (4-6"). The front will then lower to the floor. Lift the back of the drawer upward and slid the entire drawer forward. You may want to protect your floor. I did the above with the freezer drawer full and scratched my floor a little...

There is a puddle of water inside the refrigerator, beneath the vegetable bins.

How many items are in your freezer? I had this problem and there was too much in the freezer, not allowing the air to circulate properly in the freezer, thus resulting in freeze up in the top (freezer) and condensation below in refrigerator section. Additionally, I had the refrigerator setting too cold, which accelerated the problem. I had to thaw the drain hole in the freezer section, below the fan, to allow water to leave freezer during defrosting stage. Hope this helps?

Cubed or crushed ice will not dispense out of my whirpool ED5GVEXVD

I have a GE GSL25JFTAB5 with same problem. On my refrigerator behind the icecube drawer is a square opening . In that opening is the solenoid that operates the lever for crushed or cubed ice. I removed this unit from the freeze and removed the solenoid. I then applied vaseline to the shaft and the inter part of the solenoid. The reason for this I discovered was frost forming on the interior of the solenoid causing it to freeze up and not engage the lever for cubed ice. I reinstalled the unit back in the freezer and it has been operating fine for the past month. Good luck, ART
