I currently own a Compaq Presario V6000 and have had it for roughly just over a year now. Lately the WLAN device is having issues. Sometime when I start up the Laptop the WLAN driver does not load up. I check the device manager and the "broadcom 802.11a/b/g WLAN" device comes and goes and does not register sometimes. I also check the HP wireless assistant for "Installed Wireless Devices" and the WLAN device is not detected only the bluetooth device is.
Can you please assist me with fixing this problem? I hope I have provided enough information to understand my problem, If any more information is needed I am more then happy to assist.
Sounds like the device driver to the wireless card is corrupt. Click on start>right click on My Computer>Properties>Hardware tab then Device manager. Click on the "+" sign next to your wireless Network adapter. Then right-click on your network adapter, click on Update driver. The system will automatically look for the new driver and download it. If there is no new driver then go to the manufactureres website. All of the drivers are there. Find your computer and download the driver.
