I'm gonna assume your speakers are plugged in(wall and computer), turned on, turned up and not muted in windows.
For Windows 95/98/2K/ME/XP:
Right click on My Computer, go to Properties, click the Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button. Look for your sound device(or and device with a yellow icon), right click it and then select Update Driver...
For Windows Vista:
Right click on My Computer, go to Properties, then click the Device Manager link on the left. Look for your sound device(or and device with a yellow icon), right click it and then select Update Driver...
