Question about Apple iTunes

After downloading itunes

New computer w/vista. downloaded i tunes 8 and when i open it i get a warning. 'i tunes was improperly improperly installed. if you wish to import or burn CDs you need to reinstall i tunes.' i have done this several times and i still get the same warning. what am i doing wrong?

Itunes 8 is fully compatible with Vista, Do you have a firewall - Itunes needs an Internet connection to install properly.

Downloaded itunes onto PC which has Vista. Can't open itunes; get message: Apple Application Support was not found. Uninstalled & reinstalled twice with same results.


Itunes has two version for windows vista, may be you are using the incorrect version.

 

Check you windows version : right click in COMPUTER then click in PROPERTIES and see if you

have a Windows Vista 32 bits or Windows Vista 64 bits.

 

Go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

 

If you click on the big blue button, you are downloading the 32 bits version.

if you go down a little bit more, you can see in blue letters "64-bit installer".

 

Take the correct version and that's it.

Every time I try to open itunes it says "itunes stopped working and was shut down" I even tried re installing it with no success


You should try this:

Follow the steps below to create a new user account in Windows Vista

From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
  1. Open Add or remove user accounts (If using the Classic View in Windows Vista, open User Accounts. Then open Manage another account).
  2. Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process.
  3. Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu.
  4. Log into the newly created user account.
  5. Open iTunes and determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in this new user.

If still it doesn't work than follow the folllowing steps:

  • Remove iTunes Plug-ins
    Third-party iTunes plug-ins can cause many issues, particularly if the plug-in has not been updated to be compatible with new versions of iTunes. iTunes plug-ins are stored in the following location:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins

  • Remove iTunes Preference files
    Some of the files that iTunes uses to store settings and preferences may be unusable and cause issues. iTunes has two folders where preferences are saved. Move one of them to the desktop and test to see if the issue persists. If it does, move it back and remove the second folder. The location for the two preference folders are:
    • C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
    • C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes

    Launch Internet Explorer
    Click the Tools menu
    Select Internet Options
    Click the Connections tab
    Click the LAN Settings button

    i had this problem , first you should remove you exitune and you i tune library and after that you should install a new i tunes

    signing up for a new itunes account is free but you need a valid credit card to sign up..

    if you have creadit card, go to www.itunes.com and download and install latest iTunes application.After install, open iTunes, click on iTunes Store (below Library) then "Sign In" (below search) a pop-up window will appear, click "Create New Account" button. Follow the on screen instruction.

    The problem is with Vista, there was an update, so download and install the new version of iTunes, and this will fix the problem.
