SOURCE: Dimplex Convector Heater EPX1000 turns off by itself

I have the same problem with 3 of the 5 EPX1000s I have fitted in my flat, although mine don't even warm up. They just immediately turn themselves off. My only conclusion is that they are rubbish. Specifically, the so-called overheat protection doesn't work. Avoid.

I have exactly the same issue you describe, with a Dimplex EPX1000.
Did you manage to fix it or bought a new one? If so, which did you get?

I have just got a CDE3ECC and I had the same problem with it power light on no heat.

I took off the side with the timer on and one by one disconnected each connection and took off the brittle heat shrink wrap off the spade connectors and heat shrunk some new sleeving on each spade connector and did it back up and now my heater is working again.

I noticed that the bare spade connectors on the secured down thermocouple was shorting out on the timer panel. (See Image)

New heatshrink sleeving SHOULD cure the problem.

Hope this helps and good lucka8d54988-6783-4852-a124-91dd06ff1219.jpg

I have 2 Dimplex DS4411 fireplace heaters. One has the fire display, but does not heat. The other has heat, but no fire display. How do I fix it?

The fire display is a simple replacement of the light bulbs that produce the effect.
The heater issue could be a bad temp sensor, or a bad heater.

HI THE 3 INDICATER LIGHTS WERE ALL ON SHOWING THAT THE HEAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON FULL CAPASITY!!BUT THERE WAS NO HEAT BLOWING OUT OF THE GRILL!!

Not an unusual problem with any electric fireplace heater. I suspect the overheat circuit has shut the heating element down. Or the element has burned up (that's not unusual either).

In any event, turn the fireplace OFF and unplug it. Wait 30 minutes before plugging it back in. During that time, the overheat circuit may reset itself. If that fails to solve the problem call The Technical Service Dept of Dimplex USA at 888-346-7539, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. EST. If it ends up needing parts, you can order them at that time.

Have the Model # and Serial # of the fireplace, handy. As you will need to provide that information to them, as well as the date of purchase.

Motor in dimplex fire/heater not turning

Hello. It could be possible that a piece or some of the foil that gives the flame effect has fallen down on the motor, that creates the heat. This could be causing the noise. I would not think this is an electrics problem.

I would ensure the electric fire is disconnected from any power supply and either open the heater myself or get a electrical specialist to have a look. Then you will see exactly what is happening. A piece of foil may be visible which is catching the motor.

If you decide to tackle the problem yourself write down how to put the heater back together as you take each part out. These parts would be covers etc. It can easily get confusing. That is important.
