If you are able to disassemble it get the motor out and clean and examine it. If it is a brushed motor Ace Hardware carries brushes for electric motors just take the motor with you to match the brushes. Use electronic components cleaner to clean the motor. It can be found at auto parts stores. Be sure to lubricate the bearings or bushings inside the motor while reassembling it
