Question about ASUS Essentio Computers & Internet
I've been having trouble with my computer lately. It is starting to restart itself everytime i try to play a game on my computer and that is the only time it does that when im about to play a game. And just recently it started doing it alot, when i ust to play games it would only do it once or twice a week. But now i cant even play any games for more than 30 minutes! I thought it was because it was over heating and all the dust, so i cleaned it out and made sure that the fan had no dust in it. But i still have the same problem! Can you help me fix this problem? I am all out solution to why it is doing this!
It could be a marginal power supply, gaming puts more requirement, processing power, therefore more power is required by the CPU and the graphics card. And of you are overclocking then it needs even more power and generates more heat. Do you have a video card installed or just using the integrated video?
Another possibility is temperature threshold setting in the BIOS or some control panel tool run within Windows. If the threshold is set too low, the computer will turn off to protect the CPU. It may have something to do with the fan settings. Quiet setting for fans may prevent them from going full speed to cool things down.
Try to run a system monitor tool to see how its handling the extra gaming load.

First, make sure you have anti-virus software that is up to date and the computer isn?t infected with anything. If it?s not a virus, restart the computer and enter Safe Mode (press F8 while the computer is loading), and wait a few minutes. If the computer doesn?t restart itself in Safe Mode, then you might be having a software problem. If it does, it?s a hardware problem. There are a lot of possibilities. The problem with windows is that it restarts automatically every time there?s a problem and it?s hard to see the message that appears detailing the problem. To change that? go to System Properties in the Control Panel and click on Advanced>startup and recovery>settings. Remove the check no ?Automatically restart?. Next time the problem occurs you?ll get some more information about it that would help you solve it. Good luck.

before you get to the xp loading bar hit F8 a few times, youll get a menu up. boot in safe mode and try a system restore, make sure you pick a date to restore before the problem started. to find the option go to your start menu/programs/accessories/system tool/system restore
let me know how you get on

SOURCE: my pc turns off itself
Check your cpu heatsink/fan. This sounds like an overheating problem as the cpu has a sensor that will automatically shut down your system to prevent it from frying. Hope this helps.

As soon as u see the black screen...hit F8 repeatedly to get it into Safe Mode.....then go to system restore and reboot/restore system back on a saved day. Then run your virus protection and scan for malware. This should get you back online. You may need a full system scan to locate the effected DLL's anmd killl off your intruder.

thats usually a software problem, that happens when the CPU gets overloaded and there's still data input coming in! Try formatting the disk and if the beeping sound persists, open the case and look for bad connection between the main componentsand the motherboard
