Question about Apple Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger for Mac

1 Answer

I need to find out what version of Flash Player I have

I am having trouble using the program that I am on on weight watchers site.  When I first started I could get into the Plan Manager and now I can't.  I asked WW what to do and they told about cleaning out cookies and cache and dropping the bookmark which I did and was able to get in again but then it quit again on me.  Now they want to know what version of Flash Player I have and I don't know.  I am using my daughters Mac while she is away to see if I want to buy one so really don't know much about this computer and don't really want to add anything or delete anything.  Can you help me out here?

Go to the Adobe Flash Player download web site where you can download the version of this utility that you want.

Alternatively go to the Adobe Install web site to get the latest version of the utility based on your operating system and browser versions.

Can't download adobe flash player nor can I. View you tube material

Hi

You don't say which operating system you are using.

You don't say where you are trying to download Flash Player from. If it is not from the official Adobe site, then the source file may be corrupted.

Flash Player may be installed/partially installed but corrupted and the download can't rectify the corrupted files.

Flash player is required to view YouTube Video clips. This is why you cannot use Youtube properly until you have resolved the Flash Player problem.

Uninstall Flash Player and all its components in Add or Remove Programs > restart the computer > download and install the latest version of Flash Player from:

www.adobe.com

Restart your computer after the download > try YouTube again.

Update Flash Player regularly to keep it up to date (you should get regular alerts to update).

I hope this helps.

I have the Adobe flachplayer instalalled but can`t get the plug in version What do I do

As a starter we must first uninstall the resent installed adobe flash player. Then go to you tube and try to play a video file there. The web site will prompt you to install the missing plugins. Install it and you will find that it is the adobe flash player that you need. before the installation finishes your computer will promt you to exit a web browser that you are surfing with. If your using firefox, then you must exit it first before you can continue to install adobe flash player and finish the installation. Then click finish. Have a nice day my friend.

Why not play my flash player

flash player issue are very complicated but you can first start with Uninstalling the flash player from the Add/Remove Programs and then reinstalling it.
Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features)

Then go to the Adobe.com and download the latest version of Flash Player.

If you are still not able to use your flash player then it might be some virus issue or could be some issue with the registry of the computer.

I play a game on facebook, and every time I go into the game, a screen says my plugin has crashed. What do I do to fix it?

Depend on your OS. If is Windows IE, some issues has found on this.

Try this :
our version of Windows is either a 32-bit operating system or a 64-bit operating system. A 64-bit operating system can run both 32-bit applications and 64-bit applications.Your browser, such as Internet Explorer, is either a 32-bit application or a 64-bit application. Flash Player works only with a browser that is a 32-bit application. On a 32-bit operating system, your browser is always a 32-bit application. However, on a 64-bit operating system, your browser is either a 32-bit application or a 64-bit application. Make sure you are using a 32-bit browser by following these instructions:

Windows with Internet Explorer
To make sure you are using a 32-bit version of Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
  1. In Internet Explorer's Help menu, select Help > About Internet Explorer. (In some versions of Internet Explorer, select the question mark in the upper right corner to select About Internet Explorer).

    ieversion2.gif
  2. If you do not see the words "64-bit Edition" next to the version number, you are running a 32-bit version of Internet Explorer. Continue to Determine the Flash Player version you installed, if any.
  3. If you do see the words "64-bit Edition", go to Flash Player on 64-bit operating systems (TechNote 6b3af6c9) to continue troubleshooting your Flash Player installation.
Windows with other browsers, such as Firefox, Google Chrome, or Opera
No official 64-bit version of these browsers is currently available on 64-bit Windows operating systems. Therefore, unless you are using a test version of a browser (not typical), your browser is a 32-bit application, and therefore, works with Flash Player. Continue to Determine the Flash Player version you installed, if any.

2. Determine the Flash Player version you installed, if any

Before you troubleshoot Flash Player installation, determine the version of Flash Player you have installed, if any. You can see if it is working and whether it is the latest version available for your operating system. Follow these steps:
  1. Go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about. If you have already successfully installed Flash Player, the page displays the Adobe Flash Player version as shown in the following image:
    flasht23.jpg
Note: The version number in this example might be different than the version you have installed.

If you have not successfully installed Flash Player, you will not see the image.
  1. The same page http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about has a table that shows the latest Flash Player version available for your operating system (for example, Windows or Macintosh) and your browser (for example, Internet Explorer or Firefox). If the version information shown in step 1 does not match the latest version shown in the table, upgrade to the latest version. To upgrade, continue to Uninstall previous versions of Flash Player.
Note:Internet Explorer uses a different Flash Player than other browsers such as Firefox or Google Chrome. Therefore, if you sometimes use Internet Explorer and sometimes use another browser, you might have installed a different version of Flash Player for Internet Explorer than for other browsers.

3. Uninstall previous versions of Flash Player

Before you install Flash Player for any Windows browser, uninstall all previous Flash Player versions and restart your computer. Follow these steps:
  1. Uninstall all previous Flash Player versions and restart your computer. For Flash Player uninstall instructions, see Uninstall Flash Player (TechNote tn_14157).
  2. Restart your computer after uninstalling.
  3. If you are using Internet Explorer, continue to Verify Internet Explorer security and ActiveX settings. Otherwise, continue to Download and install Adobe Flash Player.

red-line-23.png
4. Verify Internet Explorer security and ActiveX settings (skip for other browsers)

Make sure that Internet Explorer security default level is set to Medium. This level allows viewing ActiveX controls, such as Flash Player. To set browser security to Medium, perform the following steps:
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Choose Tools > Internet Options.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Select Trusted Sites zone.
  5. Select the Default Level button. (If the Default Level button is dimmed, continue to the next step).
  6. Move the slider until the security level is Medium.
  7. Select Apply.
  8. Select the Internet zone.
  9. Repeat steps 5 - 7. When done, select OK.

Hello,

I can give you this site which has downloads for nearly all versions of Flash Player.

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

However, keep in mind a few things:

1) The site says these are for testing purposes.
2) There is no guarantee they will work.
3) Using older versions (Flash Player, IE, etc.) can expose your computer to attacks due to security issues.

Not sure which version to tell you to try. Perhaps 5 or 6 I'm guessing. Good luck.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Flash player 10.0.12.36 is installed but not detected by appln

The problem seems to be conflict in the .dll file "NPSWF32.dll" and it's association with the Windows Registry. The registry key of the flash player for Mozilla Firefox is damaged/corrupted. So you have to uninstall Flash Player: (Follow both the steps.)
Step-1: First uninstall through ADD/REMOVE Programs from controls panel.
Step-2: Then download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller from here. Now close both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Then run the uninstaller tool. After uninstalling, restart your PC. Now open the firefox and go to http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/ to install the latest version flash player.
Remember: Whenever you are installing or uninstalling flash player you must log on to windows as Administrator to perform and troubleshoot this type of issue.
