Question about Epson Stylus C62 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Ghost Ink My printer was printing fine up until recently, when it began to go through the motions of printing, but when the page came out it would be completely blank. When it's preparing to print, it also makes very violent noises. Any solution to this would be much appreciated.

I just changed cartridges and got the same thing. I have used the head cleaning thing 5 or 6 times and a nozzle check only prints two very fine lines of black.

Can you identify where these noises are coming from? Is it the parking bay on the right?

Hi Powerstone03, the solution below is probably not relevant to you. Please respond to my queries above if you still want help.

Hi barron scalp

Are you confident the new cartridge was full and in-date? Can you confirm that the old cartridge was not removed until immediately before the new cartridge was installed. Did you remove the yellow tape from the new cartridge before you installed it? Was the black cartridge change properly completed such that an ink charging cycle occurred. Have you retried any further head cleaning cycles after leaving the printer alone for 24 hours or more? If not, do it. Any sign of black ink now? Yes, but not perfect? If so do a couple more head cleans and nozzle checks. If still not perfect, let it rest for another 24 hours to disperse air bubbles. Then repeat. Patience is needed here.

If you still have no result, and you're sure you have a good ink cartridge properly installed, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head fully into its parking position by hand (do NOT turn the printer on) so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean again. If still nothing, report back

Hi Powerstone03 - do you want to try and fix your old printer, or have you disposed of it?

Black and white not printing correctly, color is fine

If you are not using Epson ink, your printer will do this. Epson printers hate knock-off ink. Always use Epson ink if you want to keep your printer working properly. To solve the problem you are having, try cleaning the ink tubes. Make sure you re-install them properly. Hope this helps. Charlene

even when you change your ink sometimes you get dried up ink in the feeder lines take your ink cartridges out, take a damp cloth and wipe over the tiny holes were cartrides go, replace cartridges and press down several times firmly about 5-6 times on each cartridge that should start ink flowing

Will not print

Try using the 'clean cartridge' setting with your printer, this usually forces the ink through the installed cartridges.

Good luck!

Printer goes throught the motions of printing, but what comes out is a clean page - no ink

I had the same issue when I replaced the printer and kept the old cartridges I had just purchased. The OK button I pressed was on the PRINTER not the PC. You dont say the model printer you have. Mine is an all-in-one J6480.
