SOURCE: eMachines monitor keeps flashing the On Screen Display menu.

if it is the button. you would have to open the monitor and fix it that way, and i dont suggest doing that yourself, unless you are familiar with electronic components. take it to a repair shop. call around and get an idea of who would do the best job for the best price.

Let me know :)

SOURCE: an emachine monitor menu keeps

The first thing is to check whether one of the control buttons on the monitor is stuck in the on position, particularly the Menu button. Sometimes buttons will hang cockeyed if you push them at a slight angle. The permanent fix is smear in a little paste wax around the button to lubricate it where it wants to catch.

Some monitors come with a "remote" setup utility that runs on your computer. Try uninstalling that if you have it. If you want to keep that function, check the e-Machine website for the latest version.

These are the simple and fortunately most common answers - there are other possibilities, but we'll cross that bridge only if we need to.

Sounds like your menu button on the monitor is stuck in the pushed in position. See if that is the problem and use a needle, q-tip with alcohol to pop it back out.

My E19T6W 19" LCD monitor has a menu that keeps popping up on the bottom right corner of
my screen. Has been doing this continually since I got it. Changes from the eMachine monitor tour to resolution and contrast menus. I keep turning it off and within seconds it'll be right back. For the most part I just ignore it, but recently it has been driving me insane during movies.

The right hand 1/3 of the screen is blank. Cannot get anything to display

sounds like you have to set the monitor resolution using your computer. right click desktop... graphics options. or Properties. look for Resolution slider. Move it around. press apply. see what happens. if it now fits but is fuzzy. change the refresh rate eg. 60 Hz or 75 Hz. On the monitor itself there is typically a button that allows you to move the image to fit the screen, quite often these settings are inadvertently played with by children ect. look for buttons/ menu's on your monitor itself. play with the settings .

I'm trying to adjust the appearance of my screen. The problem is that it has a "washouted" look. Either the resolution is off or the brightness needs increasing. I have tried several ways to change this...

what kind of graphix card do you have?

if you right click on your desktop and select personalize>display settings (vista) or properties>screen resolution (xp) and then properties>advanced settings. flip through those tabs, you may find adjustments depending upon your video card.

OSD Locked pop menu

Hi,

You must reset the on screen display in the menu. Hold down the Menu button for at least 60 seconds. A menu list will appear on your monitor screen. Using the adjust button, press the arrows to enter the menu. Scroll down to the Reset section.
On the right side of your screen, you will see an alternating Yes/No choice. When the Yes message flashes, press the Ok button. The menu should be reset and the flashing OSD control message should disappear.
I hope it helps.

The OSD Menu on the monitor itself is locked. How do I unlock it so I can adjust my settings? It was given to me, I have no printed material for it. Thanks

Turn off monitor, hold down the menu button, turn the monitor back on, release the menu button after 10-20 seconds. Your Iiyama screen will now be unlocked.

Osd main controls locked/unlocked pops up every 5 seconds

Hi,

Press the Menu button ( marked OK) for one minute, or more, and a blue/red menu list should appear on screen.

Using the adjust button (immediately to the left of the OK button) by pressing the arrows at each end up or down as required you can enter the menu and select an action by scrolling.

At the end of the list of possible adjustments on the left of the screen (brightness, contrast, etc) is the Reset section.

On the righthand side of the screen is a flashing Yes No choice which automatically alternates.

The trick is to select the Reset choice on the left and while selected press the OK button when the Yes alternative on the right of the screen is flashing.

You VDU should then Reset and all will be well.
