Dell Latitude c610 wont turn on

I have a latitude, The last time I was using it, it shut off automatically. When I tried to turn it back on, all the of the lights (the capslock, numlock, power, battery Exc.) come on but the computer shut back off. I called Dell to see if they could tell me over the phone what it was, but they were no help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Pull the hard drive out and use an adaptor and hook up your hard drive to a desk top computer . Run a virus scan on it with the latest protection. run spyware and adware scan too. Defrag it and check it for errors. After that put it back into your laptop and reboot. Still doesn't work which out the memory and check to see if the processor cooling fan is working. If you hard drive doesn't work when you hook it up to desktop you know it is bad. Make sure you hookit up right. You can get an adaptor on Ebay for a couple of bucks plus shipping.

Hello try removing the battery keep the ac adapter on and power again. if it does not come on then you have a power problem. try swapping the memory or replacing it. another issuecould be temperature related. if the system fan or the cpu fan is defective it can have an adverse effect onthe system board. since your system shutdown by itself, your CPU could have been damaged or relatively your system board.

It could be one of two things, Memory or system board. Try and switch the memory chips around. If you have one memory chip, try the other slot. If you have two chips, try just one chip. If you don't have any luck with that, replace the memory chip. If no luck with that, you'll need a new system board. EBAY would be your best bet to get one.

When I press the caps lock key on my gell latitude d620 it makes a loud beep. how can i stop this?

The problem is in your keyboard or the caps lock key. It seems that that the capslock key is stuck. Better to inspect that key if there is dirt that is causing it to stick, if there is none, then the contact point of that key is the problem, maybe the rubber base of the point could no longer bounce back every time it is unpressed. Second, you may change your keyboard by buying a new one, but this would require a technician for the installation or you may buy an external keyboard as another option. Lastly, you may go to the brand service center and let them check it, if it is under warranty no fees will be charge.

Hi. I have Dell latitude d610. What does the symbol A inside a lock mean? It's under wifi symbol on front panel. My computer turns on for 3-5 seconds & goes off. thanks

That symbol stands for CAPSLOCK and lets you know if it is on or off. when the light is on means capslock is on. when off capslock is off

Computer will not turn on

You need to charge a battery at least overnight 8 hours for a real flat battery. During this time it must NOT be used at all. When you get it that flat, it will take some time to "Come Back" from flat. I suspect you just need to be more patient and leave on charger, when using it for at least a couple of days while working on it. After the 8 hour initial charge.

'why the ligth for the uppercase letter function flashing for 9 times and the dell d600 don t start

Hi,
basically the problem that you are having is a no P.O.S.T (power on self test ) issue or to make it clear the computer is having some problems turning on. Now, how is the capslock light related to the problem? For dell portables it uses Numlock, capslock and scroll lock key as diagnostic indicators as well. based on your discription, the off-flashing-off combination means that there is something wrong with the main board on your computer. and the badnews is the part costs a lot. you'd probably end up paying $400.00 for the parts and repair.

Hope this helps.

thanks.

Restart always

sounds like a reload of the operating system, and or your hard drive is corrupt. See if it will boot into safe mode (F8) on startup. You can also run diagnostics on it by holding down the FN key when you push the power button and see what happens.
