Philips 42pfl3704d/f7 power reset when HDMI, USB, or cable attached ... or Cable TV to unit the power resets, philips screen comes on and keeps on resetting. ... I tried a cable to the tv without the box and I do get picture.

Try factory reset to start in the menu or try firm ware upgrade via usb.

I have the same problem on my TV, and it seems like the menu button on the side panel is stuck.

You may of turned on the Philips Easylink which is for connecting Easylink-compliant devices that are connected through HDMI connectors can be controlled by a single remote.
You can restore the default picture and sound settings of your TV.
1. Press MENU
2. Select SETUP> Installation>Then Factory settings.
3. Select Reset to start resetting
5. Press OK.
6. Press MENU to exit.

The only way to reset it is to leave it unplugged for 24 hours. If resetting it doesn't help let it turn on, you may have to replace the power supply

check the capacitors in the power supply that is the first thing to do, just check if anyone is swallen or pregnant jajajaja that's how some people call it

You need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1. Go to www.philips.com/support
2. Enter your country/language
3. Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4. Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5. Click on "Software & Drivers"
6. Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7. Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8. Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9. Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically

If you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the "Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The firmware on your device is already up to date."

I bought the television less than a year ago, so I called Philips Magnavox and they asked for the serial and model numbers. Next thing I know they asked for my name and address and Philips is sending a brand new television to replace it !!! The new one should arrive in about ten days. How's that for service? I'm very happy that I bought Philips and I will do so again. So don't forget to keep all the paper work that comes with your new televisions,especially Model and Serial numbers !
