Question about Bernina Sewing Machines
Bernina 1080 is just fine when stitching forward but cuts the top thread in reverse. How can this be solved?
Hi, is the top tension too tight? as this is often the problem. Try loosening it
Hope this helps,

SOURCE: Bernina 1630 problem
Your feed dogs sound like they are getting stuck, chec whether they are on the down position, and also make sure that you have cleaned any lint that builds up in the bobbin area, if all fails it will have to go into the technician,

It could be that there is a loose piece of thread, or some fluff which is obstructing the tension gauge. Try blowing around the theading area (or even run the hoover pipe near it to see if you can **** it out). I cleared mine by folding a piece of non fluffy material and rubbing gently between the tension dial and machine.

Refer to your manual for maintenance and clean the machine as indicated. A sensor may be blocked by lint.
If this continues, the machine will need to be serviced by an authorized Bernina repair tech.
