This is not just you, it is the phone. I have had mine replaced many times. Im on my fifth model of this phone, it still shuts off randomly but the contacts stay intact. I would go to your service provider and get a new one, since it is the phone itself.

if the contacts are on the sim then remove the sim and put it in a new phone, put a new chip in the b2100 and search for the factory code in the phone's manual go to security search for factory setting and enter the factory code the phone will restart then put back the old sim.
There is no setting for this. There is an analog only setting, but no way to turn digital off. This sounds like an issue with your carrier. The digital signal may have failed and all the phone can find is analog. The m800 will always look for a digital signal first. Give your carrier a call and let them know. Dan
