Question about Maytag Admiral Top-Freezer Refrigerator
Admiral top freezer. was working great.. then noticed items defrosting. thought door was open... reclosed waited, overnight.. no freezing. has power - both compartments cold. but freezer section is just that cold not frozen. Heard compressor running.
Check the condenser fan, listen and see if it kicks on, if it doesn't then find someone that know how to take it apart and change them.

Switch off the unit at the wall and leave it for a day to cool off. I think your compressor has overheated and has cut out on thermal overload. There should not be any problem with leaving the door open. The problem with the compressor is likely caused by poor power supply or a power surge.
