Question about Home Security

Open Question

I have a Craftsman 1/2 hp 139.53663SRT2 garage door opener that has 2 remotes (visor) but won't work until the opener is fully reset (after ~4 1/2 minutes). It's worked fine for over 14 years. I recently replaced that batteries (tested fine with a DVM) but now neither remote works while the lights are on. I've reprogrammed numerous times (successfully) but still have the problem. Logic board? Thanks.

SOURCE: Remotes don't work

I recently had Verizon FIOS equipment installed in my garage (for phone, internet and TV), which is plugged into a 110 volt electrical outlet. Thinking this equipment might be causing some RF interference, I unplugged the FIOS equipment, and both garage door openers immediately worked perfectly again!
After reconnecting the FIOS equipment, I then plugged the garage door opener into a different electrical outlet approximately 15 ft. away via an extension cord, and the openers continue to work fine. Fingers crossed, I hope the issue is permanently resolved.

SOURCE: cant get 2 remotes for garage door openers working at same time

You have a remote that has reverted to an earlier technology. The only way out of this is to purchase the same exact model number called for by your opener and go through the programming. You will find the new one will work with one of the old ones. Remove the battery from the one that isn't and drop it in the garbage.

SOURCE: Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door opener problem

The remote and the keypad work through a signal sent to the receiver while the wall console, as you said it's wired directly to the opener, so it's likely that the receiver is shot. I'd try reprogramming the remote to just rule out the chance that all code wasn't erased first. (Press the learn button on the back of the operator head, stand back 5 feet and within 30 seconds slowly press the remote button a few times to see if it operates the opener). If this doesn't work, you can install an external LiftMaster universal receiver with the correct frequency and you should be good.
If there's a purple antenna hanging off the head, this is a 315 freq, use a 356LM, if black it's a 390 freq, use a 635LM receiver.
Then you'll have to reprogram your remote and keypad to the receiver.
Since there's also the issue with the light, there's also a possibility the circuit board got fried. Did you have any storms lately?

Garage door programming doesn't work

try resetting the homelink system by holding down the first and last buttons at the same time until the light flashes rapidly on your visor. this could take up to a min. then at the same time press whichever button you want to program on the visor and the garage door remote button at the same time until the light on the visor flashes rapidly.that could take up to a min. after that is complete you need to go and push the learn code button on the back of the openers unit, then go and push and hold the button on the visor you just programmed until you hear a click or you see the light flash on your opener unit. after that try using your homelink. note there is about a 3 second delay when using homelink. you need to push and hold the button until you see the door operate.

I have a craftsman garage door opener (1/2 hp) won't close proper

Check your door sensors. They have probably been bumped. Tweak them until they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not blinking.

Remote will not open or close door when temperature is cold.

if this is an outside remote the best you could do is maybe put someting to insulate the remote if it is in your car don't leave it on the visor put it in the glove box or maybe the center console it is obvious that expansion/contraction physics are playing a part
