Question about GE Wireless Optical Mini Mouse 3087897985

1 Answer

Where is the link button?

All of a sudden my mouse doesn't work. It is plugged to my desktop. The receiver works.

the mouse started to blink, the instruction manual is very very basic. They say "press the link button at the bottom". Where is it???? There is a picture of the front but not of the back (not of he receiver either). I see at least 2 buttons, I pressed them and it does nothing. I changed the batteries, it is worse, no blinking at all.

Anyone could help, please? Thank you very much

PS. Sorry, I thought there was more info displayed since I went to the specific topic.... It is a GE Wireless HO97985. I think it is not relevant, but I use Win XP SP3.

    Thank you

  • ijlem Jan 24, 2009

    Doesn't work at all :(((

I put other new rechargeable batteries, pushed the button on the transitter and the mouse, no moer light, either blinking or not. I mean there is the light at the bottom (optical?), but not on the top. I am sure I installed them correctly, it is not that difficult.

    Thanks for your help, cpenzes

  • ijlem Jan 24, 2009

"is the USB plugged in secure", not sure I understand that. I don't think there was any software, it was just a little plastic, I pushed the buttons several times, and true, it is not visible, hence my first question.

I have already tried 2 new sets of batteries, one normal, the other rechargeable, It is a USB hub (4 pluggs), but it was working this morning!!!

I plugged an old one (Logitech), and it works, So I could check device manager in THAT computer (I am working on another one). Hmmm... I have now 2 mice (2 x HID compliant mouse)

Would you suggest I update any driver?

    Thanks

  • ijlem Jan 24, 2009

Each mouse appears as Microsoft :((( None is.

  • ijlem Jan 24, 2009

    no cd
it is right clicking that gives me Microsoft

  • ijlem Jan 24, 2009

ah, ok... the mouse is GE wireless optical HO97985
Why do I get Microsoft (for both)? (of course in device manager -> mice and other pointing devices -> properties

  • ijlem Jan 25, 2009

  • ijlem Jan 25, 2009

  • ijlem Jan 25, 2009

how do you want to proceed?

  • ijlem Jan 28, 2009

Thank you so much, you tried very hard to help me, I don't have any idea why it doesn't work (you either), maybe I will find the solution some day.

    Thanks again

there may be a USB button to push for reset of mouse and is the USB plugged in secure.

If you got any software with the mouse i would run it again.

Do you have regular batteries to try and are you sure there is no button on bottom of mouse to push

on the bottom of my mouse you can barely see the reset button

don't forget to check for reset on USB plug in you can even try a different USB port if you have a second one

Next time you need to change the batteries shut down

If you've done everything i don't what is wrong

check device manager see if mouse driver is showing

if you right click the driver then properties should give you more info

do you have your software cd

  • DEKR
    DEKR Jan 24, 2009

when you right click the driver you should get an option for properties

what is your mouse type again I am going to look and see what the proper driver is

you can try and update your first driver then restart and plug the ge mouse back in

    during restart

i just think you may have lost the driver

  • DEKR
    DEKR Jan 24, 2009

if you updated first one and mouse still does not work then uninstall first one

then update second one again restart unplu logitech and plug ge in during restart and reset if that did't get it going then logitech back in

let you know what your driver should be in a minute and then we can fix it

mean time i'll find proper driver

I have your mouse driver but i would have to send it via e-mail

    then you can download it

  • DEKR
    DEKR Jan 25, 2009

FOLLOW THE STEPS ABOVE THAT I HAVE INSTRUCTED

yes update and restart and plug ge mouse in press rest buttons

and see if that solved it

I DO MY BEST TO HELP BUT SOMETIMES ITS HARD WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE THE PC IN FRONT OF YOU

please check to make sure your reciever/transmitter is also securely attached

in the meantime I will send the driver with proper instructions

  • DEKR
    DEKR Jan 25, 2009

  • DEKR
    DEKR Jan 25, 2009

just let me know it's not hard and the mouse was working before so it should work again

  • DEKR
    DEKR Jan 25, 2009

I am going to send you step by instructions via e-mail

your mouse should still be showing since you never uninstalled it

I just think you were having a conflict with driver cause you had two drivers in device

before i do this uninstall any mouse drivers then remove the mouse you are using

from the tower of your pc then attach the mouse you are trying to repair

    then restart system

This may automatically detect your mouse

but you must first uninstall any mouse drivers from device

Usually, the connect procedure for Labtec is, that you press the small connect button on the receiver, (which on some models, then starts blinking).. Next, you press the connect button, on the bottom of either the mouse, or keyboard.. then repeat this, for the remaining unit.

Note: You might have to connect the PS2 receiver BEFORE starting the PC, and also might have to install the drivers, to get the multimedia-keys to work ! Good luck!

How to install

Plug in the reciever into the computer and make sure the mouse has fresh batteries. Once you are in Windows, press the link button on the receiver. The indicator light should start blinking. Then within two seconds press the link button on the bottom of the mouse, the indicator light should quit blinking. After re-linking the devices move the mouse to see if it moves the cursor. If the cursor does not move, then move the mouse and see if the indicator light on the receiver blinks. If the device does not blink then try re-linking the devices again.

I have a GE wireless optical mouse that has decided no to work

I had the same problem till I discovered there are two buttons (not just one) you have to push to re-link the mouse and the USB receiver. Plug the little receiver in, push the tiny "connect" circle on the receiver (which is actually a button I guess), then wait for the red light to start blinking. Then press the little link button on the bottom of the mouse.

Where is the link button on the actual mouse device? The USB is being recognized, but the mouse isn't working.

Cordless Desktop EX110 Mouse isnt working

Computers wont recognise user errors. Just kidding. i had the same issue with mine. After some period of time it will begin to do what i call Freeze Response. Where the computer recognizes it's function is there, but the mouse is considerably frozen. this works for me. If you still have the Cd than unplug your mouse and reinstall it. if you reinstall it with the mouse in, it just fixes software errors.

Or

Turn your pc off, unplug your mouse. Take out the batteries. boot up your pc, wait till everything loads up into windows or MAC, plug in your mouse, put the batteries back in. And wait for it to automatically connect. if it does not hold the connect on mouse and press connect on receiver. You should be on your way hopefully.
