It is a common fault that the drain fails to work in most machines in a period of time and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine.Check power to the drain pump at the cycle, if absent it is a failure of the timer. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged. Now remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain pump/valve, clean the drain pump/valve, use back flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

The water drains as we fill the machine

The drain hose is too low or the drain pipe outlet can not get air and is siphoning the water out.
The drain hose height should be a minimum of 36 inches from the floor.

Washer will not cycle

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

MY SON'S DISHWASHER WON't drain

Hello there:
Please try these things below my post and click on the links that are available for you ok
I hope that tthis is very helpful for you
best regards michael
Water will not drain from my dishwasher. Investigate these six areas if water will not drain from your dishwasher :
dishwasher_drain-hose.jpg Drain Hose

It is quite common for a dishwasher to not drain because either the drain hose or the air gap (if the unit has one) is clogged up. Drain hose clogs commonly occur where the hose is attached to the main household drain line, or where the hose connects with the garbage disposer. Try removing the drain hose to unclog any debris. Don't forget to reattach the hose before you start your dishwasher again.
dishwasher_pump-repair-kit.jpg Pump Assembly

The pump assembly is comprised of a pump, wash impeller, and drain impeller. The pump ejects the water from the unit, the wash impeller pushes water through the spray arm, and the drain impeller directs the water towards the drain port. Examine your dishwasher's pump assembly. Clean out any debris that may be blocking it. Replace the pump assembly if any of its parts appear to be worn or defective.
dishwasher_belt.jpg Belt

It isn't very common, but sometimes a dishwasher's pump assembly is driven by a belt. If that belt becomes worn and defective, then it cannot properly run the pump that drains your dishwasher's tub. If your dishwasher uses a drive belt, examine it now. If it shows signs of wear, replace it.
dishwasher_timer.jpg Timer

A defective timer could interfere with a dishwasher's ability to drain properly. Test your dishwasher's timer mechanism. If it is faulty, replace it. Keep in mind that you can replace either the entire timer assembly or just the timer's motor.
dishwasher_motor.jpg Motor

The motor plays a key role in a dishwasher's ability to drain water. If your dishwasher's motor is not functioning properly, it will negatively affect the draining capability of your machine. Test your dishwasher's motor for continuity. If it fails the test, replace the motor.
dishwasher_drain-solenoid.jpg Drain Valve and/or Solenoid

In some models, a valve has to open in order for the water to drain out of the dishwasher. This valve is controlled by a solenoid, but it is the timer that decides when the valve should open. If your timer is working fine, check the drain valve and its solenoid. If need be, replace them.

Will not fill with water goes right down the drain, works sometimes

Your drain line is too low or there is a air gap blockage.
Remove the drain line from the drain and hold it up high while filling with water and see if it fills and stops.
If so, correct the drain line problem. The drain hose should be 36 inches from the floor.

Whirlpool washer fills, begins to agitate, then drains

Water siphoning out the drain line
If the water is continues to fill and water is draining while it is filling or agitating, Check the height of the stand pipe. It should be about 36" above the floor. If the height is correct it may need to have an anti-siphoning valve installed into the drain line.
moz-screenshot.jpgThe washer fills and drains at the same time only on the rinse cycle.
Shut the machine off with timer during this period and raise the drain hose. If the water continues to drain, you will need to install an anti-siphon kit.

Tub in washer empties as fast as the water runs into tub

ck height of drain needs to be at least 30-36 inches from floor also be sure drain hose is only 6-8 inches into standpipe be sure there is a small air gap between drain hose and standpipe.. hose needs to fit loosely into standpipe or siphoning may occur
