How do replace radiator hose

As car repairs go, a radiator hose is one of the easier jobs.

Get a replacement hose.

Wait for the engine to be cold.

Loosen the hose clamps at each end of the hose.

Use a heavy screwdriver if needed to loosen the hose from the radiator and engine. Pull the hose off both ends.

Put new hose on, with the clamps. Tighten the clamps.

Fill the radiator with coolant as needed.

I put a new bag in my electrolux 2100 and it seems like it has half of the suction. What seems to be the problem. Does it need a new upper motor gasket?

Take the hose off, turn the vacuum on and see if there is good suction at the vacuum where you attach the hose. If there is good suction at the vacuum there is either a clog in the hose or if it is an old hose the liner inside the hose may be collapsing when you turn the vacuum on. If that is the case you will need to purchase a new hose. I have hoses for sale on my website and on ebay.

Hose needs to be replaced.

That is a coolant hose and it's connected to the radiator, and the thermostat housing.

There are two hose clamps that need to be loosened, then remove the hose and put on new one. It's best to get two new hose clamps.
You can use a Flathead screwdriver or a socket set to remove it (loosen it).

Go to auto parts store with the make and model of the car and tell them you need the upper coolant hose and two new hose clamps.

If you want bring the old hose with you, don't drive the car with the hose removed.

After replacing, make sure the level of the coolant reservoir is on it's full line.

FUEL FILLER PIPE DIAMETER? i just bought a 99 cougar, needs a new fuel filler tube to pas inspection. the part new cost 350, and i dont have that kind of cash. so im going to rig a fuel filler hose onto...

Is the actual filler tube rusted or busted? If so just get a new one from the junkyard, Id not recommend you rig it with a piece of hose for a lot of reasons.

Now if your talking about the little piece of hose that connects the filler neck to the tank, you just need to measure it, and or bring the hose into a parts store. They usually do those hoses in millimeters.

I have a little hole in the water hose in the back of my fridge. When you go to get water or the fridge fills with water to make ice the the hose sprays water from the hole in the hose. Is there a repair...

You need a new hose, as yours is worn out from age. Hardware stores usually have tubing for such repairs. Turn off the water supply, unclamp the hose from both ends. Take the dead hose to the hardware store to match it up. Get two new clamps, too. Then replace the hose. A fairly easy job.

Hose leaking brake fluid. under drivers side . just put in new brakes and rotors

If the brake calipar was left hanging by the hose instead of being tied up,that puts a strain on the hose and the brake line causing it to crack or break. The hose needs to be replaced, and the brake system bled of air.

I need a new hose for my Electrolux central vac

Do you need a new powerhead too or only the hose? If you need a new powerhead than I would recommend looking at the Imperium Pro Elite Attachment set. It is an excellent quality powerhead and hose. If you only need a new hose than you will need to contact the Aerus because they will be probably be the only company who can sell you a hose that wil be compatible with your powerhead. Their website is

I want to reconnect a hose to my dysons upright

You can find replacement hoses on eBay for the price of $20 to $30. Search for "DC07 hose". That, obviously is the easiest route. But, you can repair the old hose if the damage is near one end or the other of the hose. Damage in the middle of the hose will not leave enough length for effective use and thus buying a new hose makes since.

If you decide to repair the hose, you will need to use wire cutters to snip the wire in the hose below a point where the damage is and then use scissors or an exacto knife to trim away excess plasitic hose above the snip.

Remove the damaged hose section from the fitting that was cut off. You may need to use pliars to pull on the wire until it comes out. Check the inside of the fitting and remove any remaining debris so you have all of the grooves as clean as possible. The inside of the fitting is threaded like a nut and "screws" onto the hose. You will need some form of adhesive to help keep the hose attached to the fitting. I use silicone caulk for that purpose. Squeeze some into the threads on the fitting, screw the hose on and allow to dry over night.

Hope this helps.
