The model number is GHW9100LWI. A repairman came yesterday, and cleaned out the pump that pulls the water out, he said it was fixed, but when he left the machine did the same exact thing. Called him back and this morning over the phone, he said it is the control panel, and he would order one. How could he do this analysis over the phone? The panel lights up, so I thought maybe if you could give me the proper test code I could fix it. Thanks so very much!

What is the model number? To get your clothes out and the door open on that model, try unplugging it for awhile and open the door (you probably have tried that already. Some models you can take off the bottom panel and reach up and there is a little ring you can pull to open the door. (most likely) you might be hearing the pump running since it always run when spinning. If you give me the model number I can let you have the test code. You could try Pressing any key (not power or stop) hold it in for 3 seconds let go 3 seconds, press 3 sec, let go 3 sec, hold 3 sec let go. It should come up all lights on. Don't worry you can't damage anything in the test mode. Watch what it says. then press that same key about every 30 seconds to advance it. It's kind of hard to explain but I'm trying my best. It should at least unlock it in the process. Good luck

Try setting it to drain & spin. Set other selector to no spin. then press the top button (hard to explain and i'm not looking at one now. its the 1st row of buttons to the right of the main dial top) press that 4 times in a row while no spin and drain and spin are selected. It should then flash codes on the display. to advance it the diffenrent test press that same top right key 2x quick go about 15 seconds in-between test. It test different things. The instruction sheet for that is in the bottom of the washer if you take those 3 screws out of the bottom panel.

My whirlpool duet washer make a loud banging sound during spin - louder when it goes into super spin

It sounds like the spider or support arms that hold the wash drum have failed and the drum is hitting the wash tub when it is spinning. Try spinning the inner drum by hand and listen for any thumping sounds as it turns. Also examine how it turns, if you notice that is wobbles as it turns, it also means that the supports are failing.

It can be fixed but it might be expensive. Get a few estimates before deciding to repair or replace. Hope this helps you.

the noise is a drum bearing, it is pressed on the back of the washer drum, until recently you would have to buy a new drum for around $700.00 but there are a few companies out there selling a bearing kit, just go to EBAY and do a serch for whirlpool duet bearing kit. they are not easy to replace but it can be done by a novice with a few tools and allot of pay chance......GOOD LUCK

Front load washer is vibrating and making loud nose on how speed spin cycle. Belts seem to be fine and shocks are fine aslo

Reach in through the door and check to see if the drum has any up and down or side to side movement . If it does move or makes any clunking sound then your "spider" that holds the drum to the shaft is broken and is very expensive to repair.

Washing machine making loud roaring sound during spin cycle

Very likely the main bearing and drum shaft-inner tub will need replace. Not worth repairing, easily can cost more than the washer. Buy a new whirlpool front load duet, super capacity or the top load whirlpool with and agitator. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists
