Question about Fisher Paykel EcoSmart GWL15

1 Answer

Gentle Annie GW52-F The cold water is just dribbling in.

Am trying to remove the control panel without success. I have removed every screw in sight but although I can remove the entire top of the machine, I still cannot get into the Control Panel and am worried that I might break something if I force it. I suspect that the cold water solenoid might be stuffed. Can I swap out with the hot water one as we only do cold washes. My questions are: 1/ How do I get into the control panel 2/ Can I swap out the solenoids or just change over the hoses and run as hot wash only?

Don't run hot wash only as the spin cycle will be reduced to a slower speed. Can you swap the wires and hoses to the solenoids only and try that.

How do i remove the top screw that holds the control panel

First you have to remove the trim from the top, there are two screws holding that and then a bit of gentle prying/wiggling. If you're having trouble with the unit randomly resetting, try torquing the exposed screws behind the control panel. The important one is probably the grounding point. It seems to have done the trick for me, three weeks and no SE- codes.

Gentle annie

The fill switch may have failed or the tube to it broke. Anyway, the machine probably is too full of water for it to start to spin out, so it slips on the belt and that makes noise.
The machine is going to be very heavy if it is overfull, but try to let some water out. Maybe you can just lower the drain hose way down into a bucket and get some water out of it. Once it's low enough, it may be able to pump out the rest. Then you can find out about the fill switch.
If it's not overfull, then some hose came loose or broke.

Checking for blown fuse is a common problem fix, but your master control on drivers door may have a loose conection, or may be faulty. Remove all surrounding screws for door control pad and with gentle prying should loosen pad without removing door panel.Press together all connectors. Windows should operate. if pad dose not come free door panel must be removed.

I have a Fisher and Paykel ECS Gentle Annie GW52-k

Make sure there is voltage going to the valve solenoids. That is what opens up and lets water into the washer. You will have to open up the top of the washer control. The valve assembly is where the hoses screw in the back. I don't have the technical on it but most likely should be 120V. Sometimes the valve goes bad and won't open up.

Hi.I have a Gentle Annie that starts and stops filling with water

It is most likely the lid switch. The switch sits in a plastic bracket which has a lever coming down behind the tank.

If the tank sways and hits that lever, it cuts off the cycle as a safety measure. When the switch is faulty or more often when the plastic bracket breaks, you get this symptom.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

Water fills very slowly. I've removed the hot and cold supply hose and found no clogs. Water flows well from the taps, but dribbles into the wash load.

Did you check the screen filter in the end of the hoses on the washer and the end that screws to the water supply.

Hi gastang,
The problem is with your water valve. It needs to be replaced.

To access the washer follow these steps...
1.) Remove the 2 screws from either side of the control panel.
2.) Pull the control toward you a 1/4", then rotate it up and all the way over.
3.) Remove the white plastic wire connector to the top panel (it has 3 wires in it.).
4.) Remove the two clips on either side of the top panel. Do this with a screwdriver. Poke the screwdriver into the top panel to engage the clip, now rotate the screwdriver toward the rear panel.
5.) Lift the lid (for a hand hold) and rotate the entire cabinet forward to about a 45 degree angle then slide it toward you. Set it aside.

Here's a video that shows how it's done. But you'll notice that the screws on your control panel are in the front, the video has the screws in the back, but the rest is the same. Here's the video.

After you have access, you'll see the water valve on the right.

If this was helpful, would you take a moment and rate my solution? Thanks,
