Either of 2 things.
1. the backlight went dead
2. the controller of the backlight went dead
or both 1&2.

Hello, I have an imagerunner 5000 and the screen control panel went blank but no error code. What do you think went wrong with the copier?

If the copier is still running properly despite the lcd screen being blank, you may have a burnt out power inverter board. If you look very closely at the screen and are able to make out very faint images or text, it is most likely a faulty inverter board. You can find these boards on ebay and should only run you about $50.00.

Screen is blank but still takes pictures fine

Try removing the battery or reseting the unit if there is a reset button. Otherwise it sounds like the screen died.

My hp pavilion screen went blank, what would be the problem?

Is the screen completely blank or can you see a very, very faint image on the screen if you turn it to the light?if so, it could be the backlight at fault on your screen. This could be the TFT panel at fault or the screen inverter board that makes the backlight wor

The screen is blank but I can see a faint image.

Try reseating the cable that goes to the back of the lcd and also the other end of that cable that plugs into the motherboard. If that doesn't do it then either the lcd or the inverter is bad. Either way when you get a replacement screen for a dell laptop it normally comes with a new inverter as well. If your laptop is under warranty thru dell then you can get it replaced thru them. If you have your serial number then I can look it up and see if your system is still under warranty.

Laptop screen blanks out

Defective CCFL backlight may has the following symptom:
  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp)
has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

My screen icons are all gigantic.....

On the screen itself you would have an option to select active destop. Click on the link and it would load your desktop settings.

Black screen

Hello doughman93,

It is one of two things:

1) check the video cable harness (cable connect to the system board at one end and screen at the other end).

2) video inverter - provides back lighting. Can be going bad or is bad (needs replacing).

Hope this helps and good luck.
