Question about Gateway NV5378u Notebook
Every time I boot up my laptop the fan sounds like it is rubbing ot out of balance. Can I turn the fan off in the Bios or elsewhere in the computer and just use an external cooling pad? If I can turn off the fan where specifically can I turn it off? I've watched: 1)How to disassemble a Gateway NV52, NV53 http://youtu.be/ab0tt7LflHw 2)Gateway NV Laptop Repair Fix Dis-assembly Tutorial http://youtu.be/f65ohS_EfdI Both videos get pretty complicated and I'm unsure if I have the knowledge or ability to take it apart myself. A repair place here in town is too costly for my budget and beside I bought it refurbished about two years ago.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: gateway boot problem
This mostly happens when your motherboard is bad or one of the memory modules is bad.
The led light comming on indicates your power pack is ok but a component is failing to start especially when the laptop stops at the first screen stage where the manufacturer names appears.
The steps needed to solve this kind of problem would require technical skills and physical inspection.
If you still have a waranty period then seek a free service repair from an authorized or certified gateway service centre at the nearest centre closest to you.
If your warranty has expired, i still advise taking your Laptop to the closest Gateway service centre.

There has been a lot of problems/ complaints about this particular product. That is why I always recommend HP notebooks.
You can take it to a service centre where they deal in Gateway products but I bet you might need to replace your motherboard.
