I would be more than happy to help with this. There isn't a place to purchase individual parts for our receivers. The humming may be from the fan still receiving power, but if the receiver itself won't turn on we would have to send out a replacement.

Make sure the receiver is plugged directly into the wall, and not into a power strip or surge protector. If the problem continues, can you send me an email at with the account or phone # so I can look into a possible replacement?

SOURCE: my vip211k receiver will not stay comes

Bypass that surgeprotector, if one, try another outlet, if that does not work, call Dishnetwork to have it replaced. If under warrantee, you are covered if not, add the service plan, $6 a month and you are covered, free!

Could it be a blown fuse in my brand new car the reason power outlets are non operational

the outlet may only be active when the key is the Acc or run position.

Suggest that you try DVD on another car it is possible the 12 volt DC operation in the new DVD is not working but the power cord does.

It is easy to pop the fuse when inserting the adapter. When you find and replace the fuse buy a spare.

Car manual will show fuse location. It is likely a 15 amp.

hope this helped?

No lights,no clock no functions. Power to the unit is good. Any suggestions?

The likely cause for your radio not functioning is a blown fuse on the power supply circuit board. Unless you are able to take the clock apart and solder a new fuse to the board, your best option is to purchase another radio. If this clock radio is a wall plug-in, the fuse may have been blown during a thunder storm.

I opened my amplifer top and saw fuse 3.6 amp 125v blown up. I purchased fuse from fry's 3.6 amp 125/250v and installed it get blown right away. there is no power or light on the screen

Hello there, usually replacing fuses are not the solution to most problems. Basically what you have to do is first locate the source of power to the fuse and identify why the power supply to the fuse is as high as it is and address the reason for such flow before replacing the fuse. Depending on what happened to cause the problem initially you might have to replace more than a fuse and probably a diode and a conductor which supply power to the fuse as they might have lost the ability to step down the power which flows to the fuse. Check the components which supply the fuse to determine where exactly the surge in power is coming from.

hi,when fuse blown out there's a possibility that internal wiring were also short circuited..that's why even you replace it with a new fuse in the plug still it will blew out because large current will flow within the circuit . It is much safer to have PCB check or if your expenses in having that PCB see by a technician is higher , then it is better to purchase a new one.It is much safer to use a warrantied PCB and at the same time it has a much longer life span.

Hi, I have a Harman Karddon sub - woofer. when I changed the fuse I get a humming sound. I would like to know if the type as in (2.5a 250v typeT) make a difference/

Fuses are either blown or not. The hum is from an ungrounded or unshielded cable somewhere.

What required the fuse to be changed in the first place?

Happy new year! my problem is that the stereo turn on but no sound. my stereo receiver is a fisher studio standard AV STEREO RECEIVER. RS-616

if its a new purchase with a warranty, then take it to them first to prevent any loss of coverage, and if not open it up and check for a round cylinder glass fuse, or white ceramic fuse, possibly might have blown it.
good luck!
