2000 mitsubishi eclipse 4 cylider wont start up all the way it cranks and sountds like it wants too start but doesnt i already replalced the crank sensor and teh ignition misfire sensor and then it ran for a half day and brokd down again does anyone know what the problem could be could it be the coils the starter wires a bad spark plug anything else
I know it's kinda late but hopefully this post can still help someone. I'm reddragon859 I had the car put on a diagnostic and the problem was with the crank sensor.
I have the same problem on my 2002 Eclipse RS 2.4l 4 cylinder. Replaced the battery, starter, fuel pump(not at one time) . It started up when I had the starter put on as well the fuel pump. But everytime I started the car up it ran good till I turned it off the problem was still there. The car sounds like it wants to start but it sputters you can smell the gas so I know its getting fuel. it starts up fine with a cold start like in the morning.
Try getting a diagnostic thats what Im going to do next week.
good luck!!!

well i did have that checked yet. i would have to get it towed but that would cost more and well i'm trying to fix it myself. if one spark plug is not connected could that casue the car to not start up once again it sounds like it is trying to start but wont start up. and now i cant get one of the spark plugs out the one that the coil covers up. the socket is not fitting arount the spark plug
try replacing your map ("manifold air pressure" swich) sensor on the intake manifold. What error code is the OBD2 reading?
