Can't find the wifi signal

Assuming that you are using Windows, the D-Link is properly installed, and that you can go to Start; Settings; Network Connections: and your D-Link appears as a wireless network and that when you double click on it you see a box that lists "wireless networks" that indicates either " no wireless networks in range, or there are some networks, but they are all encrypted, then you are not in range of a wifi hotspot or free wifi access point. If you live in a mobile home as I do you will find that the metal walls effectively block the signals.A simple device that you can use to increase your signal strength can be found if you google "Surf rider" when you are on the net. Find a friend with a laptop, go to a Mcdonalds or a Starbucks hotspot and test your D-Link to verify that it is working Dan

I cannot connect to my wireless internet. it will find the signal but it will not connect to it. but if i used it somewhere else that has a wireless connection it will connect.

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

My router does not show wireless signal just wired

Your computer cannot detect the Belkin if the wireless card in the computer has not been configured with the Belkin wireless settings.
The WEP, WPA, WPA2 encryption key is in your router's wireless settings. Log into your router and got to the wireless settings, you will need to get the SSID and the encryption key. Then go to your computer/laptop's wireless card and configure it with the router's SSID and encryption key, so it will then connect to the wireless router and the Internet.

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I want lock my linksys

1
Open your web browser.

2
Go to "http://192.168.1.1." This is the URL of your Linksys router's settings utility.

3
Sign in using the router's user name and password. You assigned this information yourself when you initially set up the browser.

4

Click "Wireless," then "Security."

5
Click on the drop-down menu you see on screen and select "WEP." This is a form of encryption for the wireless signal on your router. Type a word or phrase into the box below and click "Generate." This will turn the word or phrase you have selected into an encrypted password. Write down the password that is generated, as you will immediately need it to connect to your wireless network. When you're finished, click "Save." Your Linksys router (and the wireless network it broadcasts) are now locked down.

Thanks.

Cannot connect 2 computers to Motorola SBG900 wireless cablemodem

mac and pc security keys are not interchangable. I suggest not using a a key for both units. You can reset the router by unplugging it for 1 minute. or you gain access to the router through the web address. 192.168.1.1 Type this into the address bar to gain access to the router.

Wireless connection will not work

The computer is viewing the signal, but its not connected yet. For that you have to enter a "key" in hexadecimal format. In other words you have to configure the security of the wireless connection on the router, then you have to enter the "key"that the router gives you. To enter the administrative configuration of the router, connect with the cable the computer and in the internet browser, enter 192.168.0.1 or search for gateway IP address of the computer. There you configure Wireless Settings. Always use encryption for security reasons. WEP encryption will be good.

Does the Symbol AP 3021 Access Point accept WPA encryption?

on the info i could find it only supports WEP.
but if your issue is to be more secure look up if it supports a sort of mac filter.
this will only keep everybody out of your router but your signal will only be WEP encrypted.
