Question about HP DesignJet 755cm InkJet Printer
Hi, When I recently purchased a 755cm all colours and black seem to print fine, I am now having a major problem..... All cartridges are full, it recognises all cartridges but it will not print any black. The images I am sending to the printer are coming out filled with little dark dots looking very grainy. I printed a test page and put a different black cartridge in but it still the same, the printer recognises there is a cartridge in but it will not print black!! I have cleaned the printer and cartridge strips but still not joy.... It was working fine two weeks ago, Although I was only printing text so not sure if it will still be dotty and grainy even if the black does get fixed. Please help....... All possible answers welcome, I need this printer working.... Thanks.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I think I know what is the problem. I refilled my black ink cartridge and it printed for a while, but at some point it just stopped working. The head wouldn't touch the paper. Initially I thought the printer had a problem, but then I discovered that the color cartridge still worked.I had a spare new cartridge so I changed it. Everything worked just fine afterwards. My hypothesis is that HP tracks an identifier in the cartridge and does NOT allow you to refill (I even think they simulate for the cartridge to be failing, but I still have to corroborate this). I think this is outrageous and illegal. Please let other people with the same problem know about it. So, the solution is to stop using HP products.

reset the printer by turning it off, waiting 10 seconds and turning it back on, also right click on My Computer and select manage..go to services and stop and restart the spooler service

If the toner cartridges are "refills" that might explain some of your print quality issues. Unfortunately, HP only has 2 replacement parts for that model, the fuser and the ETB (Transfer belt) both would require a technician to replace. Check the transfer belt of any tears or punctures. Careful not to touch it, oils from your skin can cause quality issues as well. If at all possible replace all the toners with ones that were working fine.

1. Disconnect the power cord and USB from the printer and press and hold the power button down for 30 secs without anything connected to the printer. 2. Now connect the power cord only and turn it ON, make sure that the printer has sufficient ink in the cartridges, you may clean them and inside the printer with a lint free cloth. The printer will take some time to initialise. 3. Now we will reset the printer so follow the steps below. A. - Press and Hold the ?Print Photos? & ?Red Eye Removal? buttons. Release both buttons. Display should say ?Enter Special Key Combo? B. - Press and release in sequence ?Red Eye Removal?, ?Print Photos?, ?Red Eye Removal? 1. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says ?System Configuration Menu?. 2. Press and release the ?OK? button. 3. Display should say ?Support?. Use the Right arrow Key to look for "Reset Menu". 4. Press and release the ?OK? button. 5. Press the right arrow key to look for "Semi-Full Reset", press 'OK' 6. The printer will go off and will power on by itself, else wait for 20 seconds and power on the printer. Also check if Operating system is Windows XP, then Service Pack should be 2 or 3. Try reinstalling the main s/w driver and also upgrade the firmware from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3560280
