Question about KitchenAid KP26M1X Stand Mixer
I had the same issue and it probably is the worm gear. This youtube video is a great step by step guide to fix it.
The following link is to the parts diagram. If your model is different you will just need to search for its diagram.
it is a DIY project, a little messy, but worth it. The worm gear + SSH was only $5.50. A few hours of time and a fully functioning mixer again.
