Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop down and select Camera Microphone.
Click OK and it should work.

Webcam sound won't work


Step 1:
click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your web cam from there
if you are have trouble with your web cam click start control panel administrative tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark ? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it or select audio from the microphone drop down list make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or select the voice tab and make sure that you have the right media selected also select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers

My gigaware subwoofer wont work


Audio subwoofers are used to augment the sound quality that is released by stereos and other audio component systems. As a result of actively using subwoofers, the sounds projected from the sound systems (such as music and voice) not only become louder, but also have a fuller output. Subwoofers, however, are not immune to problems. These issues often result in distorted sound.
Issues Among the most common problems of audio subwoofers is the loss of their bass effect while playing music or other sound files. The majority of people that experience this problem do so because they have installed their subwoofer on a different sound system than the one where it was originally installed. Additionally, there are scenarios where the subwoofer does not produce any sound. b> Troubleshooting b> Subwoofer issues are typically caused by one of two things: improper settings or broken receivers. You can troubleshoot the lack of bass or other sound effects that decrease the quality of sound by checking and adjusting the settings of the subwoofer as well as your audio system. Although subwoofers work on almost all types of audio systems, some have to be adjusted to ensure quality sound while utilizing them. Broken receivers, on the other hand, have to be replaced with new ones. b> Significance b> Fixing subwoofer problems proves to be important, not only because it will increase your enjoyment while listening to music, but also because utilizing a subwoofer improves the audio system's overall performance. When subwoofer issues go ignored, there is a tendency for the audio system to become overworked, as the user likely works the controls on the audio system rather than using the subwoofer's settings. As a result, additional audio problems may arise due to playing at full-blast volume and making other unnecessary adjustments to compensate for the lack of a subwoofer. b> Recommendations b> One way of handling subwoofer issues is by reviewing the owner's manual, paying special attention to the speaker settings. Different audio systems have their own recommended settings to ensure quality sound and that all the effects can be felt and heard while the sound file is being played. If the manual does not provide any recommended settings and/or adjustments, tweaking can be done on the audio system's subwoofer menu to create your preferred sound. Through tweaking, you will be able to find the desired quality, as well as detect and correct any unnecessary noises and vibrations coming from the subwoofer. b> Maintenance b> Audio subwoofer problems can be prevented by regularly cleaning and maintaining both the subwoofer and the audio system where it is connected. The speakers should be dusted off periodically to ensure clean release of sound and the wiring should be checked for open exposures. These exposures should be immediately repaired to prevent further damage. Fix a Subwoofer b> A subwoofer, or a "sub," is an important part of your overall sound system, whether it's in your home or car. A sub's most important quality is bringing out sounds you can feel rather than just hear. However, they are also susceptible to wear and tear from overuse, and the sound quality will be greatly affected by this. Here are some steps to fix a subwoofer.

Check with your manufacturer's Tech Support Web site. Usually with a subwoofer, the problem lies with the voice coil, which might just be burned out. These are usually fixed by sending them into the manufacturer, so determine how much you want to spend to repair it versus how much it would cost just to buy a new one. Roam through the Tech Support forums. It's likely that someone had the same problem as you with your sub, and you can run the symptoms past a few other consumers to see what diagnosis they found. Identify the specific problem if you can. You can look for tips to fix this problem on the manufacturer's Web site, or if you're technically savvy, you can try opening the sub and looking at it yourself. Two major manufacturers of subs include MTX and MK Sound. Check the bronze-colored coil underneath the foam cover. Note whether it looks worn, burned, warped or distorted. This may be the cause of your sub sounding fuzzy or muffled, which means it needs replacement. Look at the fuse inside the speaker and test it if you know how. This is a likely problem that causes your sub to power up improperly, play sounds at about half the volume or intermittently fade in and out. If the fuse is discolored or shows a short, you'll need to replace it.

I have no sound on my laptop. It only plays sound through headphones. What should I do?


Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop down and select Camera Microphone or Headset. Then click on the Speaker and set the sound to either Speakers or Headphones.
Click OK and it should work.

Sound Problems


Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop down and select Camera Microphone.

I have a Mikomi DC-7130 Webcam with Mic but cannot get any sound when I play back recordings. after re-loading the software twice I now find I cannot play the recorded video back with sound. I am now...


Click the 'Devices' menu and you should see a tick next to the Webcam name (USB 2.0 UVC Camera).

Underneath this should be the same name (USB 2.0 UVC Camera), select it and a tick will appear next to it.

This means that you are using the webcam as the mic for your video/webcam (instead of a seperate microphone).


Now click on the 'Capture' menu and the option 'Capture audio' will be available (previously it was greyed out)

Tick this/select it and your webcam will pick up the audio.

I hope this helps.

Also, if anyone finds the image a bit blurry, it can be sharpened bv rotating the webam lens.

QuickCam Communicate STX Sound Problem


Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop down and select Camera Microphone.
Click OK and it should work.

Video sound problem

Test the Microphone in Sound Recorder

  1. Click "Start," > "Programs" ("All Programs" for Windows XP) > "Accessories" > "Entertainment" > "Sound Recorder."
  2. Click the Record button and speak into the microphone of the camera. You should see the green line move, indicating the application is picking up sound.
  3. Click the Stop button.
  4. Click the Play button. If there is no sound at playback, check to make sure the correct device is selected.
    1. Click "Edit," then "Audio Properties."
    2. Make sure Logitech is listed as the Preferred device for "Sound recording."
If the microphone does not work in Sound Recorder, click here for help in determining the problem with the mic.
While using MSN Messenger it is the messenger program, not the camera software, that negotiates the audio streams between two MSN Messenger Clients. Although we cannot directly support audio issues in MSN Messenger, the following steps have been known to resolve and improve audio issues in MSN Messenger. For further information, please consult the help documents associated with MSN Messenger.
Test Your Networking Router
You can also test to see if your router is causing audio issues by either physically bypassing your router and connecting directly to your cable/DSL modem or by setting up your computer as the DMZ (de-militarized zone). If you are a novice networking user, it is not recommended that you leave your computer in the DMZ state for extended period as that may leave your computer vulnerable to attack. However, you may briefly configure your computer as the DMZ to determine if your network settings are causing the audio issues. For DMZ setup instructions, please consult your router's documentation.
Enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) on both Windows XP and Your Router.
If either of the above steps resolves the no audio problem, try the following steps.
  1. Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. To open Add or Remove Programs, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
  3. In the Components list, select the Networking Services check box, and then click Details.
  4. Make sure the Universal Plug and Play box is checked.
Notes: If you used a CD to set up Windows, you will be prompted to insert it into your computer.
If your router does not support UPnP or you still get no audio after enabling UPnP on both Windows XP and your router, you must manually open all UDP ports between 5004 and 65535. This is because the audio streams are sent dynamically using that range of ports. Without a dynamic way to open those ports like UPnP, there is no way for MSN Messenger to successfully negotiate the audio stream. Consult your router's documentation for instructions to manually open these required ports.
If you are still experiencing audio issues within MSN Messenger, and you have verified that the microphone is working in Sound Recorder, contact MSN Messenger Support.

Accoustic EchoCancellation (AEC)'s purpose is to prevent sounds from your computer's speakers to be picked up by your microphone. This can be a significant problem with audio or video calling applications where the voices or sounds from other parties of the call is being inadvertently picked up by the microphone and fed back into the call, creating echo and other sound distortions. Without AEC, this echo can detract from the quality of a call and in extreme situations, the echo can degrade the audio experience to the point where the audio is useless.
To prevent this from happening, the AEC component monitors sounds being played by your computer's speakers while monitoring the incoming sound picked up by your computer's microphone. The AEC module takes the outgoing and incoming sound signals and compares them to determine if echo is present. If echo is found, it is subtracted before the audio from the microphone is sent to the requesting application. This will result in the remote party only hearing you speak, without being distracted by hearing their own voice echo back to them.
When enabled, echo is eliminated for the recipient of the audio/video message. For echo free chatting, both parties need to have a RightSound technology enabled web camera that supports the AEC feature.

Microsoft lifecam 1.4 does'nt respond


are you sure your microphone isn't muted?. Check your microphone volume setting by doing this:

Control panel > sounds and audio devices > click the audio tab across the top.

Under 'sound recording' , click volume. turn your volume up on the selected device. you may even need to change the selected device to the correct one. Play arround with that audio screen until you get it to work
