Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

My front loading washing mashing is making a grinding sound, it is coming from pump, what is this?

I have made sure there is not a clog in the drain pipe in the wall or in the tube from the maching to the pipe. after taking the back off of the machine, the grinding sound or a sound that is like a change counter at the bank, starts just before the spin cycle. it spins just fine but does not drain the water and the clothes are soaking wet. also the pump gets very hot to the touch.

If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

SOURCE: Does not Spin out the water at the end of a load

If it spins the balance is okay. Check out your filter now. And then the pump (after the spigot prob below) Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped.

SOURCE: Clothes are soaking wet after the entire wash cycle.

The motor controller is likely bad - not getting to the HIGH spin.

Hi

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. You have a broken drain pump and needs to be replaced. The part number is 4681EA2001D. This is a big job requiring a special tool to remove the spring clamp on the door seal.
Good luck.

"F02" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump

It sounds like the pump. You can check the drain line for kinks or obstructions, but I didn't like the way you described the sound the pump made. Remove the hoses from the pump and check for anything clogging it, like the occasional stray sock and check the pump impeller. Make sure no blades are missing/broken and that the impeller spins freely. If you find any broken/missing blades or if you can't get the impeller to spin freely, the pump is defective. Sometimes hard objects like coins, pins, etc. can make it to the pump and damage the impeller. Hopefully it's just a clogged pump or jammed impeller. Sure sorry for your trouble and hope this helped. Best wishes.
