Question about Digital Cameras

My camera won't stay on..

Ok. so everytime that I turn on my camera to take a picture it shuts off after like 2 seconds. I put in new batterys and it still does the same thing. Some times when it actually stays on, I'll review my pictures and the screen goes black, and it turns off again. When it shuts off, the lens, (zoom in and out thing) stays out. I thought maybe it might be my memory card?? I bought it probably two years ago. i just bought new batteries and put them in my camera and i turned it on and the bateery line was low already, i can view my pictures but when i press the shutter button it shuts off over and over again.

Remove the memory cards if any and then switch it on. it must switch on . after that give the reset option from the menu and format the memory and insert it .

There is one more instance in which you will face this problem is if the firmware is damaged. if so you must contact the technician or you can make use of the warranty if you have ..

I have a sony cybershot dsc w120 camera and it turns on and maybe lets me take 1 or 2 pictures before shutting off (sometimes with the lens still out). It hasn't been dropped or exposed to water, so I

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on, or works intermittently are the battery contact points, ensuring that they're clean, and making good contact with the battery. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Camera won't stay on, even with new batteries that I know are charged.

Ensure you are using alkaline batteries and that battery contacts have no oxide or liquid on top of them. If you do not use alkaline batteries this is normal.
If batteries are ok is a short circuit.

When I turn my camera on it stays on for a few seconds and then shuts itself off. I even put brand new batteries in it and it does the same thing

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

I turn camera on. Lens comes out. beep 3 times. turns off.

Everytime I try to turn it on, the lens comes out for about a second, the camera beeps 3 times, the lens retracts and the camera shuts off. The battery is completely charged and the camera is only 4 months old. HELPP :(

Camera on for 5 seconds red flashing light then turns off

that definitely sounds like a battery problem.

when you charged the battery, did the light stay red, and then turn green when it was finished?

if it flashed red, try this:

MATERIALS: 9 volt battery, 2 pieces of wire the same length, casio battery

DIRECTIONS: connect the + sides of each battery with a wire, and the - sides of each battery with another wire. [I just held them there, but maybe you can tape them if you're having trouble.] Hold it for 30 seconds. Then try charging it. If it doesn't work keep trying it until it does. TRUST ME! It took me 5 times to do it effectively.

If your battery has gone too long without charging, sometimes it won't charge correctly any more. So do this.. IDK why it works, but it did for me!

Sony dsc h1 digital camera

Hello all! I am the one who took the pics of my class and then my wonderful camera stopped working. Before I sent $181 to Sony just to have them looka t the camera. The online helper suggested that I take the batteries out, press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds, let the camera sit for a few minutes without batteries, then place new "good" batteries in it. Well thats what I did and taadaa IT WORKED. I am so excited that I save $181 and my camera is working just as if it was brand new. I hope this solution helps someone!
