Question about HP Pavilion Media Center TV M8430f Desktop PC, Refurbished
Hi, I bought a HP M8430f PC aboput 2 months ago and am ready now to set it up. On my Sony, I have a second Maxtor harddrive that I would like to transfer to my new HP. The computer is set up differently than the Sony is and I would like to know how to install my old hard drive as well. I have thousand of pictures on the drive that I would like to keep seperate.
If I can't install it then I will send it back and get me an another Sony :)
By set up differently you mean and ATA or SATA difference? That shoudll not matter as long as the windows are alread on the first harddrive of the HP Since your drive that you want to move is the second drive and does not contain the operating syastem you should be able to just phisically move the drive from one machine to the other. The new computer will see and install the drive as "FOund ne hardware" and asign it a letter. It will not disturb the data.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
