Try booting in "safe mode". Tap the F8 key multiple times after restarting your computer the select Safe mode from the menu. If you can get this far then let the machine reach the prompt. Should look something like "c:/user/". If so type "chkdsk /f" and let it run. Let it fix what it can then reboot.

SOURCE: My acer aspire netbook is not able to boot

Hi Phillip,

From the description of the problem it seems that you have only one operating system installed on your PC.

If you have your original XP installation CD, you can repair this installation without deleting you files and data.

Its possible the computer is trying to boot from another device, as the computer starts up hit the F12 key, this should bring up boot options, select HDD if it's in the list.
If not hit F2 as it starts and enter the BIOS, look for the boot option and set the HDD as the first boot device, hit F10, save the changes and exit.
The computer will restart and hopefully boot into the operating system
Please post back if you need anymore assistance.

SOURCE: acer aspire 5534 laptop won't boot up.

Go to boot menu by pressing Boot option key while Laptop booting up and then check the the Harddrive status. If harddrive is not listing anywhere in bootmenu, unplug and plug the Harddrive again. If it will still not work, replace the Harddrive and reinstall the OS.

The boot configuration data for my pc is missing or contains errors

Unless you took the time to create your own boot/recovery media (CDs) when you first got the computer, your only option would be to get on another computer and check for the availability of them on the vendor's website. (A real pain due to the many different models and configurations)

Have you tried a boot-up in *Safe Mode*? This will only be possible if offered as a failed, boot-up option screen, though. Sometime, if the boot files that are missing or have error are not too damaged they can be rebuilt when booting up in Safe Mode.

It might be possible to boot up into the BIOS - power it on and then repeatedly type the correct function key. (Check your manual for the right one.) Some BIOS configurations have an option to run Checkdisk - a DOS program which can sometimes rebuild boot files.

Where can I get a installation media to repair the boot configuration?

Go to this link:

Enter the model:
Aspire XC-603G

All drivers and documentation is available there.

That being said, I think your problem is worse. You will need to create a boot CD, in all likelihood, and install new drivers from there.

When i turn on computer says bootmgr is missing

Hello I believe you have some system configuration problems or perhaps a damaged boot sector. A sure fix would be to boot to the installation disc and perform a repair installation. If no luck, boot to a DOS disc and type in fixmbr. Then attempt the repair installation of windows. Hope this helps.

Acer5920 stuck in configuring updates.

This is generally caused by bad blocks in the Master Boot Record(Table). The drive itself is probably not salvagable. You'll need a reputable reapir person to slave your drive to another system to get the data off.

Good Luck
