Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook
Try booting in "safe mode". Tap the F8 key multiple times after restarting your computer the select Safe mode from the menu. If you can get this far then let the machine reach the prompt. Should look something like "c:/user/". If so type "chkdsk /f" and let it run. Let it fix what it can then reboot.

From the description of the problem it seems that you have only one operating system installed on your PC.
If you have your original XP installation CD, you can repair this installation without deleting you files and data.

Its possible the computer is trying to boot from another device, as the computer starts up hit the F12 key, this should bring up boot options, select HDD if it's in the list.
If not hit F2 as it starts and enter the BIOS, look for the boot option and set the HDD as the first boot device, hit F10, save the changes and exit.
The computer will restart and hopefully boot into the operating system
Please post back if you need anymore assistance.

probably ur ram is faulty..replace with a standby n see..
also check for defective capacitors on the main/mother board..
dis also do happen when ur cd/dvd rom drive is down or the cd frm where u r installing is corrupted..
the above often take place with some error message(s)/blue screen..
but if there's no such displaying, esp if hangs/stops/power off during installation, it may b caused by the main/mother board or even the battery..
..contact ur system admin/vendor....

Go to boot menu by pressing Boot option key while Laptop booting up and then check the the Harddrive status. If harddrive is not listing anywhere in bootmenu, unplug and plug the Harddrive again. If it will still not work, replace the Harddrive and reinstall the OS.
