Question about LG DLE7177 Dryer
I have an LG DLE7177WM that is 2 years old now. About 2 weeks ago it began making a vibrating sound apparently from somewhere inside the back. I initially thought a coin or screw had gotten into the metal vent duct hose if that gives you an idea of the sound. But, I found that it was from somewhere inside the back. About one week after this sound began, the dryer began making a VERY loud RuMbLiNg sound which appears to also be coming from the inside back. Any ideas as to what the cause may be?
I have the same problem; pulled it apart and discovered the drum was cracked at the seam where it was welded. the noise occurs as it passes over the wheels the drum rests on. called LG's Cusomer Diservice and nobody was interested. found the same problems by others while searching myself so its clearly a manufacturing problem.

With no power rotate drum by hand. If there is resistance and/or any grinding sound check the drum bearings. If it's the bearings replace with sealed bearings for longer life.
