You can also gain access from the back by removing the back panel...The top on this washer can also be removed..Remove the dispenser cover...Take a putty knife..Insert it in between the top cover and the cabinet ..Push in the tabs located 4 inches in from the sides.

The door on my washing machine will not unlock. What can I do to unlock the door?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter.

Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I was just wondering how to clean the filter on my Maytag window air conditioner. I saw somewhere that they need to be cleaned and don't know how to take the filter out to clean it, or exactly where...

M's Kitty . I can't help you with the remote But I might be aboe to help you with the filter service.
If you look behind the front cover you can see the coils with a spong type filter infront of it. You might have to remove the whole cover to get to it and sometimes there is a door of sorts to allow access. shut the unit down and remove the filter and wash it out with warm soapy water and replace it. and restart the unit. and your off and running again.. You should check your filter at least bi weekly unil you see that remains clean and you might get by with a monthly inspection .. Hope this helps .. Let me know have a good day .. Jon

I have a whirlpool duet front load washer. when I put a load in on normal cycle, at some point it was flashing an H and an F on the display. Tried to pause it and unlock the door, but nothing happened....

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Whirlpool's 'FH' decodes as 'no water inlet'- I suspect 'Hot Fault'!
If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,

Model # GHW9100LW on final rinse and spin water remains in washer, door locked and humming sound comes from machine....pause/cancel will not unlock door or start new cycle... what might be the problem?

Sounds like the pump is trying to drain the water but something is clogged in it or the pump itself is bad. Door wont unlock if machine thinks there is water inside. Remove front lower panel. pump is in center. Unscrew cap and remove attached filter. Be prepared for water to come gushing out once filter is removed. Clean filter and reinstall. If problem persists then the pump itself needs to be replaced.

Bosch washer wont drain wvf 2401

You need to locate and clean the pump filter, usually found at the bottom right front of washer, sometimes behind a removeable plastic cover at the bottom.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

My washer locks up and the door is LOCKED

FO2 is the code for long drain. The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too, comes after the filter.

To manually unlock the door lock system:
1. Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
2. Remove the front lower kick panel.
3. Reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door latch assembly.
4. Located on the bottom of the door latch assembly is a tear-drop shaped tab.
5. Gently pull the tab down about quarter inch or until a click is heard.
6. The door may now be opened.

Door Locked and Won't Open

The filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels and unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in.
1. Press the Chime and Delay Start pads at the same time for
three seconds.
2. The Child Lock light will illuminate.
3. To unlock, press the Chime and Delay Start pads at the same time for three seconds. The Child Lock light will go out.

If above 3 dont work try 'end of cycle' button for 3 seconds.

Below the door, there's a plastic cover several inches tall, full machine width. Just remove it and on the right you'll see the filter. Make sure machine is unplugged. Unscrew the filter counter clockwise, clean it, check the pump blades and inlet for some foreign objects and screw filter back on.
