2005 dodge grand caravan 3.3 77000 miles starts and runs fine after initial mid grinding sound goes away approx 1 min and30 seconds warmup belts test good a little shine on major belt o

Sounds like something with bad bearings. Check in the area of air conditioner compressor or power steering and yes water pump.even the belt tightener will do that.

2005 Ford Explorer is making a grinding noise

I had some issues with my 2005 explorer left rear. It was making a creepy old door sound at low speeds and then a high pitched whisel at high speeds. That turned out to be a broken wheel bearing and had it replaced. Note each wheel has two wheel bearings. After that a new noise developed that sounded like metal scraping/ grinding metal. It end up being the brake dust cover got bent when they replaced the bearing and it was rubbing something, the fix for that was bending it so it didn't rub. I hope this helps.

Grinding/rubbing noise while driving

Could be the shield rubbing on the tire or could be a loose brake caliper. Get the brake assembly checked.

Where is thermostac located on my 2005 (inline 6) trail blazer

You did'nt mention what engine you have. The illustration below is for a 4.2L, the most common for the trailblazer.
The arrow indicates front of vehicle.
Good luck, let me know.

Grinding noise while driving.

Possible causes:

a) a brake disc shield is too close to the disc, and it's coming into contact in the circumstances you outline

b) pebbles stuck between the disc shield and the disk

c) dried out wheel bearings

d) worn Universal Joints in the drive shafts

e) worn A/C pump

f) worn alternator

g) worn water pump

Is the noise still present above 15 miles an hour and past 1500 rpm when the clutch is disengaged (i.e. gearbox in neutral?). The answer to this question may help you to pinpoint the source. I know it's stating the obvious but the fact that you're hearing a grinding sound means it's caused by something that is moving relative to something else. Again this should help narrow down the cause.
